This is the download for The Battle Of The Pelennor Fields mod 2.1.
Changes: Fixed bug with Berúthiel in WotR and increased the max camera height on all maps from 300 to 450.
This should be the last version. I may add a few of more maps but will release them as separate downloads. ENJOY!
Here's the install instructions.
1: After extracting the mod, put it in your desired drive (something like "C:\Battle Of The Pelennor Fields" or "D:\Battle Of The Pelennor Fields" )
2: Then make a copy of your shortcut that you use to run the RotWK game.
3: Go to the properties of the new shortcut and edit the target. Add this to the end of it (don't add these of corse, [ ] ). [ -mod "C:\Battle Of The Pelennor Fields"]. You need to add this exactly as it is here or it won't work. It should look something like this: "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king\lotrbfme2ep1.exe" -mod "C:\Battle Of The Pelennor Fields". It's possibe that your Game may be installed in a different location but as long as you add [ -mod "C:\Battle Of The Pelennor Fields"] to the end of it, it should all work.
4: You can now load up the mod with this shortcut. You may want to change the shortcut image to something different too but thats optional.
5:Once you have the game loaded up, make sure you set the Model Detail to Ultra High in the custom setting before you begin playing.
If for any reason this doesn't work or you have any problems, please let me know.
When start mod, the game crash with:
"Expected signed integer value, math op, or predefined macro, but found 'DWARVE_BATTLEWAGON_UPGRADE_COST'
Error parsing field `BuildCost`in block Ùpgrade' in file 'Data\INI\Upgrade.ini', line 3733.
..."
I have 2.02 community patch and "Age of The Ring Mod" installed.
Hey elJorobad.
Unfortunatly my mod is a stand alone mod and won't work with any other mod. Also, I don't think it works with that patch, only the official one.
If you want to play my mod, you'll have to play it on it's own and with the BfME II and RotWK games updated with the latest official patches.
Good luck man.
Hi!
I have done this and it has worked for me:
I made a copy of the game folder and pasted it in another location. Then I have uninstalled the community patch 2.02 and finally I created a shortcut from the new game directory.
And best of all, I can continue playing Age of the Ring Mod.
Thank you.
Do you use a virtual drive like DT then? CD isn't necessary when using 2.02 so that was quite conventient.
I have the original game, so I think I can`t help you much.
But yes, the disk is necessary to run.
Hi there!
The mod looks great ,but i have a problem... When I start a Skirmish it just closes.Do you know how to fix it?
Hey there.
I have no idea why it closes like that. Does it crash out and display an error report?
The obvious things to check are that you are NOT running any other mods at the same time and that both Bfme II and RotWK games are fully updated.
So I must uninstall any other mod to keep your mod running ? And please will be there in the future a launcher for the mod or a setup program ? Last question , will you think later to find a way to make your mod playable with the other mods ? Last thing , wish you all the best and congratulations for your patience to finish your work and of course will be a great mod , now I'll try it with great pleasure . Thanks a lot
Hey Eomer.
Unfortunatly my mod is a stand alone mod and won't work with any other mod. At the moment, I'm not planning to change it, sorry.
I'm not planning on making a launcher either I'm afraid. I'm don't know how to do that right now. I could find out but it wouldn't be any time soon. I just wanted to get the mod finished and uploaded and then take a break.
If your other mods work like mine (with a mod folder and an edited shortcut) then you can run mine from a separate shortcut without it being a problem.
If your other mods works by adding ini. files to the main game directory, then you would have to remove the ini. files from the directory before you could play mine.
It might be possible to make a copy of the main RotWK folder, name it slightly differently, remove the Edain files, make another shortcut for the game in the new folder and edit that shortcut address to play my mod.
Good Luck
Ok , now it's so clear , thank you man for your gently answer , I wish you the best of the best in this world and again congratulations for the good work .
anybody has problems extracting the file ? i cannot extract it having a message saying " no archieve found " and the file is in unknown format or damaged .
Hey again man.
What are you using to extract it with?
ok,it was the winrar version I installed a new one and it works but now I uninstalled all my mods and also the 2.02 patch making a new shortcut from the game adding the extension of the mod but still bringing me to the normal game not to the mod , maybe the extension of the mod that I must add in the target place must be correct with spaces and signs , it happened to me before with the mods installed in this way , for this reason I asked you about the setup program but I will do it I will never give up till I install your mod correctly cause it looks really great , and again thanks for your kindly help .
Ok, l did it , it was necessary extract the mod in another place outside where there's the zip file in order that the shortcut can recognize the file extracted not the zipped one , now I am trying themod and from the first look it's very nice , later I will write my impression . Thanks Titan-Cronus wish always the best in your life
Hey my game crashes whenever I try to open the skirmish menu, and gives me no error report when it has closed. I have previously had the Edain mod installed but that was uninstalled after I downloaded this mod. I am on the 2.01 patch so would this effect the mod? thanks
EDIT: Ok so I found a ix for this 10 minutes after posting this comment. I removed the 'saves' file from the appdata (%appdata%) of ROTWK, which held the create-a-hero data which had been tampered with by the Edain mod. So simply remove the 'saves' folder from your ROTWK appdata folder to desktop or something safe, which means that you won't have your own create a hero's but you will be able to play the mod :)
