You've to check that the shortcut you may click to launch the game it's directed to the folder of the mod.
Make a copy of the original shortcut of the game and then check in Property and "to", you've to write the folder of the mod.
For me it's
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king\lotrbfme2ep1.exe" -mod "C:\Users\Utente\Desktop\battleforalagaesia"

Because i've the mod folder on the desktop and the original game's folder in Program Files (x86)

Normally with the launchers it should work, if the game start, it means that it cannnot find your mod folder, to fix this right click on the launcher and in the line:
set MODFOLDER="%~dp0."
replace %~dp0. by the path to your mod folder without the last /
