It competes in the MakeSomethingUnreal Contest, and it has won three first prizes in so far (Best Gametype - 2 x Best Use of Physics), and one 3rd place (Best Mod). Additionally it has won the ModDB MOTY Best Singleplay Mod of 2008 award. The Ball offers an adventure that puts you in the boots of a geologist who gets stuck in a cavern and bumps onto an ancient and Mesoamerican complex holding a mysterious ball. While making your way through the internal workings of ancient ziggurats, golden cities, and huge caverns, your only companion is a giant gold and metal-shelled ball, a mysterious artifact in its own right, that you use to make your way through a series of rooms and caverns, and to crush enemies with. As you progress through the mod, slowly the real purpose of this gigantic complex becomes clear, and you are sucked into a thousands of years old story of betrayal and secrecy.

OH MY GOD!
*DOWNLOADING IT*
Wow - me too!!
Already the first Episode has been so nice!!!
I bought UT3 just to see this - and glad I did - I am a huge fan of puzzle games
Some of the areas in bothe the first and second levels drove me mad for a while - it is so nice to not be able to figure it all out in one go
Only one negative
After I died a few times in thos particular sections
The "you died sucked in" music/sound bite would go on and on and on and freeze my computer for a while
EG after say the 10th time dying the sound bit would play twice. At the 11th death the sound would play 3 times, at the 12th death it would play 4 times - and so on - this was a major nuisance - especially when you end up with it playing like 10 times over
It would get to the point where you didnt want to die not to get thru the game but just so it would stop making that horribly noise!
The "you died" sound bite was also very loud (compared to the other in game sounds) and distorted and mostly just annoying...
otherwise its excellent and challenging
RAD AS!
