Hey everyone! It's been a while right? I was kinda slacking off a little and playing some other new games I got. So the good news is the mod is NOT dead, except the development will be going a little slower this time. I've learned a lot about Portal mapping and how to use the engine better. I've also made a few changes to the mod:
- The Observation halls will look just like they did in the original Portal
- I'm probably going to do most of the music/sound production (Sorry swgmusiccenter)
- The tests are going to be a little more difficult now
- Elevators are going to look a lot better
- And I've added a fancy intro to the game (Unfinished)
That's all for now.

I uploaded one of my friend's songs, maybe you would like to use it as the Menu Music for the mod.

I got some new ideas. Can you please speak to my in private on Steam? I don't want anyone to steal them. Maybe we can use these ideas for all of our Portal-related projects.

The "Surprise" they're talking about in the description, well, here's my guess. "You complete the final test chamber, and run into the elevator, as if your life depended on it. As you hear the final "ding" of the elevator, the doors swing open. You cautiously walk out. There is a podium similar to the one you got the Portal device from next to a door. Somebody comes over the PA and tells you, "Please put the device on the podium." You place it there and the door opens. A scientist/worker tells you to follow him. He brings you to a room with cake inside of an oven and tells you that your cake will have to be delayed because they have finally finished "GLaDOS". But she wasn't totally finished. They power her on, yada yada yada." That's my perspective.

And instead of a Boss Fight, they put you on a a super-difficult, multi-part test with a timer.

Wait, I'm thinking of Blue Portals.

I'm going to be honest, this mod looks good, not great. If all your testchambers played greatly, were fun and there was a compelling story, I'd give this mod an 8. There is some work to be done on getting the environments looking more detailed or closer to Portal (which is what I figure you want). I suggest you decompile the original maps and study them for all the ways you could suit your chambers up. Then, play through Portal for the millionth time with comentary on, taking note of all the usful tips they give you. One for instance, making the player walk completely around the dual Portal device before actually getting it, making them more excited for the big reveal of the dual device. I'm just throwing a few ideas your way. I hope all goes well development-wise. Good work so far!
