I. Introduction
Since longer time the Modding Project The Ancient Age is already in development. Its objective is to implement 5 antique cultures with the AoE3 Engine and Structure. These are: Carthaginians, Celts, Hellenes, Persians and Romans
II.Team
The Team consists on the one hand of beginners and on the other hand of people with experience in modding. The underlying idea of the team set is to teach beginners one or more aspects of modding with the final aim to integrate them effectively into the project.
The project itself is english. The team works in a closed member area on ne.elpea.net, the Official Napoleonic Era Homepage. Our first release will be an Alpha-Version that contains playable Romans and Hellenes.
III. Features
5 completely new cultures with new units, among others Tactical Units like Spies, Assassins or Officers, new Economic Units like Scholars, Slaves, female and male citizens. Longer ages show the true advantages and disadvantages of cultures and demand from players more strategic and flexible thinking.
We are willed to create a more ambitious 1st and 5th Age. The 'Campaign' feature (similar to 'Revolution') makes it possible to change the usual managment of a town to a more intensive organization of a professional army. A new, more realistic counter-system, new random maps, User Interface und Homecity Design are other features that we'll try to realize as well.

Heyaho, we decided on giving people the chance to participate in the development of several aspects of the game like Homecity cards, technologies or other material which will be needed. We just began to create material for you which is relevant or you simply need to know in the process of research. The first task is a research on Roman HC cards with a focus on military shipments. The basic economy cards are already done, so you might just add something which convices you to be unique to Romans. ;)
Interested? Then you can simply check the thread in our public forum on ne.elpea.net, you're welcome!
Others, who might not be attracted by a little bit of work should also take a look. The public material consists just to a certain part of known stuff, I guess the military Roman techtree might interesting for everyone! ^^
Greets, check us!

Do you think you will have the beta out by the end of this year? I am greatly looking forward to this mod, but, as Xerthil implied earlier, I am unsure if I should hold my breath. From what I've seen the team is doing an excellent job, though.
Not sure about the Beta, but playable Romans and Hellenes (Alpha) in every case. You can play other games in the meantime though, as long as you check our profiles. It won't be a return to AoE3, but TAA, which is totally different from AoE3, just similar in the engine and in the main structure.
TAA?
O_o...
o_O ... ? suup? :D
Aye, aye, very suprised... it looks so amazing. Will be nice if it will be released... hope so.
Man, I've been looking forward to this mod. But seeing as there hasn't been any updates lately.. I'm quite concerned..
I know, but we are still working, don't worry. ;-) We'll get this mod done, in every case. I intend to have buildings on the next screenshot, you gotta wait a week or so and then you'll get the new update. By the way, I'm always releasing secret updates, you just gotta find them, they are either on ne.elpea.net or in an album of our image uploader. ;)
Could you post here these secret updates? :-D More Moddb users might see them and more fans you would get. :-)
Secret updates become officially released after a while. The Praetorian is one of these. ;)
