Update on the Time Trial,
Hey guys, I've been pretty sick and traveling all around lately, but when I finally got home I had a chance to work on Tension. I began to implement the physical goals in the time trial levels.
The goal system is pretty simple right now, they are placed by our mapper (Cooper) and come in two variety's.
Basically, in time trial levels the player will have one required goal (the end of the level),.Then secondary goals placed on the tougher paths to encourage exploration and use of more refined skills, while rewarding the player with a reduction of their time (lower is better after all).
This is the very bones of our time trial system, not a very impressive spectacle as of now due to our lack of HUD.
Although, since we are getting so farther along we will soon be spending time designing the HUD, and working it in with the goal system and other in game stats. So a couple of news posts down the line, expect an update regarding the HUD and probably some concept art of it .
