Tamriel Rebuilt is a community mod project which aims to recreate portions of The Elder Scrolls universe. We are currently developing the province of Hammerfell as a modification for TES IV: Oblivion. Using our own stylistic interpretations along with established TES lore, we intend to flesh out this province and create an engaging gameplay experience. We are approaching this enormous task on a region by region basis, selecting small portions, developing them fully and moving on. This will not only enable us to explore all areas of TES IV modding, but will allow us to take advantage of the broad range of talent available in our community. We have a number of organized departments working on the various aspects of our mod. These include, but are certainly not limited to: Concept Art, Objects of Tamriel (custom assets), Literature, Sound and Music, Exteriors, Interiors, and Quests.

Our first task on the Oblivion engine involves creating the Isle of Stirk. It is a small island located east of Cyrodiil. Its precise location can be seen on the 'West Tamriel Map' that was released shortly before TESA: Redguard. There is almost no existing Elder Scrolls lore concerning Stirk, so we are developing a unique story line consistent with what is known about the Abecean Sea and its relation to both Cyrodiil and Hammerfell.

If you would like join us in modding Hammerfell and the Isle of Stirk, or if you would simply like to know more, visit our forums at www.tamriel-rebuilt.org, or log onto our IRC channel. We'll see you there!

How are you all? I am Vernon from the Tamriel Rebuilt project - I used to be an admin there, but I stepped down earlier in the year. Recently I decided I would like to help out our current administration with things like ModDB, so here I am. Where to start?

MORROWIND

Well a number of you might know of our decision to direct the majority of our modding power towards Hammerfell on the Oblivion engine, but some work still continues on the Morrowind mainland. Ludovic recently posted a consolidated progress report here.

OBLIVION

We made a decision late last year to get our feet wet with the Oblivion editor by creating the Isle of Stirk, located off the coast of Hammerfell. This will likely be our first release and we hope to get it to you as soon as the in-house beta test is complete.

We had a few technical kinks to iron out of the map, but the team persevered and the little Isle of Stirk is well on its way to completion.

Here are some screenshots for your perusal.

That's all for now. Stirk is coming along nicely, so you should be hearing from us again soon.

Regards from Tamriel Rebuilt

trying to give Morrowind Oblivion style looks eh? that task like you said: is enormous and given the size and diversity of Morrowind this is going to be a long (but rewarding) wait
i will perform the sacred dance of unnatural good luck *good luck dance*

This is buy far, the best landscape i have seen in a loong time. But can i comment on one thing. The thing that (the ONLY thing:)) din't like about Oblivion, was the landscaping. Nothing was truly epic. No huge cliffs buy the sea, no great gorge and no huge caste floating in mid air (Morrowind :P) Make me go WHOA!! When i see somthing, make landmarks, cause if you make the player go WHOA because of the lanscape. He will remember the mod.
