"Make Peace or Die" “Talon 1-5” is a story-driven single-player and co-op mod that aims to combine realism and combat tactics with a science-fiction environment. It will put players into a war to end all wars where they will have to think in order to survive. Taking inspiration from history as well as imagination, we will strive to tell a story about the infantrymen and women of the early 22nd century and how they must persevere for survival and victory like all the Marines who preceded them. The story centers around an 12-man special forces squad, codenamed “Talon” attached to the 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment of the United States Marine Corps. As our world once again sinks into war, Talon 1-5 becomes part of the Battalion Landing Team for 31st MEU. As a special operations unit, Talon 1-5 are tasked with hunting down and detaining an influential revolutionary leader, as he may hold the key to ending the conflict before them. The Marines of the future will not look all that
different from what we have today. While much more
technologically advanced, most of that technology
is miniaturized and internalized to a create the
Marine as an interlaced system of systems.
******* awesome :) I hate all these games taht make chunky armor (Warhammer) and try to make everything look cool. But this mod is realistic :) Who would want to carry out a huge chucks of metal armor when you can use lighter plastics? The solider of the future would defeinelently look like that.
Because you know exactly what kind of technology the militaries of this world will be using after 163 years? Besides why use plastics anyways? Why not a flexible material that hardens on impact?
That looks so awesome!! Its very futuristic and cool! but stays with realism, great job! :)
put some insignia for this dude and the pla dudes too.
paint over a pic?
I like it, although it looks a little too "Spartan"
But in space you could use heavy metal armor and still be as mobile as the "light plastic armor". its a win-win baby
i think the sad part about this is the fact that in the future, soldiers will be largely replaced by robot counterparts. so the mod is probably inaccurate in its representation of future combat, given current technological trends. it's a lot of effort, too. that being said, that only affects the PLA presentation, because probably the only fully human aspect of future war will be special operations; nothing works so quickly as human intuition backed by comprehensive, whiplash training.
If i was in charge i would NEVER EVER hand such an important task as war in the hands of a robot. A human can't be hacked or disabled by an EMP and more importantly humans have morals. And technology is, and will always be unreliable. It can always malfunction. And imagine what could happen if an entire robot army could be reprogrammed?
