Hi there,
Its been a while since I posted some news regarding Tales of Wenda but the project is still alive.
I'm currently building a game demo on my own at the moment which will feature a large playable level and a custom character with basic interactions for a start.
The project is currently running on the free version of Cryengine 3.

I'm currently looking for someone that's familiar with Cryengine scripting and coding to implement quest, inventory system and a dynamic 3rd person camera. Aswell as a character artist that can build custom rigs and animations.

That is true choco , sad to say it. But you are right about vast outdoor games on the cry engine 2 , but you shouldn't forget about the unreal engine 3 for indoor games , and close combat simulation . It might have more features than U.E 3 but isn't it harder to develop on it though , because I used it one time , and it seemed harder , I could not even figure out how to put in a simple cube , after an hour I am like no way forget this .

unreal engine 3 is a good, well balanced engine
but if your aiming for outdoors, cryengine is superior to unreal engine
not that its a bad engine, like i said, its suitable to do anything
cryengine is aimed at outdoor, so its better :) but it lacks good indoor support tho, it has it, but there are better engines for that :p

Ok so this is pretty stupid. MMO's have been built on the unreal engine since unreal 1 and they have huge outdoor environments so obviously it's something on your end. There are MMO's being developed on unreal 3 as we speak even.

don't say lineage 2 since that is a highly modified version of unreal engine 2..and its bloated >_>

One of the main reasons I'm going for the cry engine, is the real time lightning, day and night cycle, voxel painting, dynamic volumetric lightning and many tools that the unreal engine doesn't have. I've been working on the unreal engine for over a year, enough to know what are the good and bad points.
Just look at the amount of detail I can put in one scene, compare it with the screen shots form the UE 3. And I'm getting the same amount of fps in both engines.
If I where to decide which engine I would use for an mmorpg I'm developing, I would take the cry engine without hesitation.

Yea, I think its the best choice, the unreal engine 3 isn't as suitable as the cry engine 2.
Also there is a news about it, its just waiting for authorization to be posted.
Stay tuned ^^
