Hey Tolkien fanboys (and fangirls),

Make sure to check out the new showcase screenshots for the full version of Tales of Middle Earth, coming soon! featuring Harad, Rivendell, and Rhun, just 3 of the 18 civilizations available in this Tolkien inspired mod for Age of Empires II

Full version improvements over the beta will include:
• All new Rohan/Rhovanion buildings
• All new Harad buildings
• All new Rhun buildings
• All new Rivendell buildings
• Additional variations for some civ's buildings.
• Dozens of new units, as well as over a hundred new unit graphics added since the beta.
• Individual graphics for each unit line based on race or civ.
• Heroes, new technologies, and super units at the wonder.
• All terrains, cliffs, and forests have been reskinned.
• Over a hundred new editor objects/buildings/units.
• New gameplay features like dwarven mines and tax collectors

A fantastic mod! I've been playing it for a few months now and I have to say that this is one of the best mods out there. I thoroughly recommend this mod to anyone looking for a Middle Earth experience, or just a great mod to have fun playing.

Side note, and forgive me if this is an FAQ, how do you create those incredible textures and add them to the game?

Just thought of a couple of things more:
1. Maybe each civilization can have its own wonder powers? It is not a new idea and has been done successfully before.
2. A second unique unit for each civilization in a bid for specialization and uniqueness.
For example, Gondor can have a bonus attack for trebuchets, being a very powerful civilization by origin. It already has several unique units, so nothing to say there.
Maybe Rohan can have another infantry unit to go with there horsemen. Same goes to Lothlorien(which I think is overpowered thanks to the marchwarden. Maybe you can reduced its range by a couple of points and compensate in attack?)
Also, I feel that some special AI's are needed for these. I know you have made some modifications to the existing AI, but it leaves me longing for more!

1. Yes! The Wonder now has some interesting units and heroes available to train, making it useful in conquest games.
2. Almost all civs now have more than one unique unit. Lots to look forward to!
3. We didn't touch the AI for the beta, so what you see is the standard AI trying to make sense of ToME. :p

Excellent game. Units are have amazing detail. I don't like the design of the Elven buildings but hey, that's just opinion. I haven't noticed any glaring glitches. **Just a few problems... After opening the game a few times, it stopped playing 'Lord of the Rings main theme' and replaced it with the standard medley. I suppose that if I reinstalled it, it would work just fine but I'm far too lazy. I noticed that Rohan, as an AI, will build the Hornburg rather than the standard castle for that type…
