This is a truly wonderful modpack.

The images are stunning. The elves' architecture - houses, buildings, castle, gates - are excellent.

There are unexpected refinements, such as different types of houses for the same civilization, the thrilling scream of the units that replaced the monks, and the Lord of the Rings soundtrack music when starting the game.

It's like having a new game, and one that will give you hours of fun. I cannot thank enough the guys who have worked on this.

One question: I read somewhere that you could get a new type of unit, a wizard, from the monuments, including when playing as Lothlórien. But I couldn't find it.

There is only one part of ToME that does not match the quality of all the rest: the random maps, which lack refinement. There are many straight lines, as along coasts, that look quite crude. The landscapes are uninspiring; they lack relief (most of the land is flat) and differ little from each other. The Shire, Lothlórien, etc, look very much like one another.

The new desert look, that has a beautiful Mordor design, is apparently not used in any of the random maps. I saw it only because I played ToME in a scenario I had donwloaded previously, that had lots of deserts.

I think it would have been better, instead of doing those random maps, to have a couple of scenarios following more or less Tolkien's Middle-earth's geography.

Thanks again!! Your work is valuable.

Thanks a lot!

You will be glad to know that we are working on all brand new terrains and forests for the next update of ToME! Head over to our development forum (publicly accessible - Goo.gl) to have a look at in-game screenshots in the latest pages!

This also means the Random Maps are all getting a massive makeover. :)

You can create Wizards at the Wonder. More wonderful things are coming up at the Wonder in the next update.

P.S: The Mordor map is available in the Scenario Editor. For some strange reason AoK doesn't enable it in Standard Games, but you can create a scenario using the Editor and play your Standard Game on it. The next update will fix this issue too.

Keep watching!

I have re-installed ToME and Age of Empire II and The Conquerors but my problem is always there.
I play only with Dol Guldur,
In the Great Years, the technologies who are not available are :
-Vassal of Mordor
-Mines of Moria
-Hill troll
The technologie "Mines of Moria" isn't in the technologies tree.
But I don't know what technologies aren't available because I haven't got all.
I started in the Fall of Beleriand and I selected " all techs "
In the Map Editor, I can make a balrog but I don't find balrog in the Castle in the Great years...

Could you help me, please ?

Oh, can you try without selecting "all techs"? Maybe that will fix it. There are so many changes in ToME that "All Techs" seems to not work properly.

What technologies are not available? For which civs? And are there any graphic problems you are facing?

Not every civ gets every tech, so it may be that the game is running fine for you. If it isn't, we suggest doing a reinstall - your installation may have gone corrupted.

Excellent game. Units are have amazing detail. I don't like the design of the Elven buildings but hey, that's just opinion. I haven't noticed any glaring glitches. **Just a few problems... After opening the game a few times, it stopped playing 'Lord of the Rings main theme' and replaced it with the standard medley. I suppose that if I reinstalled it, it would work just fine but I'm far too lazy. I noticed that Rohan, as an AI, will build the Hornburg rather than the standard castle for that type…
