LOVELORDO use the mod with Age of Empires 2 v2.0a(age of kings) + v1.0c(the conquerors) + UserPatch (v1.4RC) + Mod (Tales of Middle Earth v0.6 BETA) to run it perfect.
Install the mod into your age of empires 2 folder

Doesn't matter. You need Age of Kings and the Conquerors Expansion

So I would just like to assure all the loyal fans of ToME that work on it has been continuing, slowly but surely. Real life has caught up to the developers and updating this site has been a very low priority for them. So I'm taking matters into my own hands and creating a little update for the careful follower.

First off, a screenshot showcasing some of Rohan's new artwork: img3.picload.org/image/ldioici/aok038.png

You may have noticed while playing the current release that the interface graphics have not been changed. This will not be the case in the next release, where you will see this new main menu: img34.imageshack.us/img34/254/sbp.bmp

And one of the gameplay changes based on user feedback, quoted from the development forum at Aok Heaven

"One highly requested feature was a primary orc-based army for the evil civs. At present civs like Mordor and Angmar get a handful of orcs, and their regular units are still men. Orc Hall replaces the War Hall for evil civs, where the primary Orc army can be trained."

Image of the new Orc Hall tech tree:

"Here's how they play out:

1. Basic orcs are slightly cheap, light and fast, but balanced by being quite weak.
- This makes orcs suitable for skirmishes like in the books/movies, but a prolonged (d)rush is likely not sustainable due to weak stats.

2. Orc Breeding research gives an HP boost, making orcs viable fighting forces in later ages.

3. As gold runs scare, techs get more expensive, and the Muster Hall units get more attractive, Orc Infestation research lowers cost and train times for regular orcs.

4. You get heavy Black Orcs in the last age, making Orc Hall an all-round military building. This offers you a stronger, high-armoured version of the orcs, that is still slightly cheaper than other typical heavy infantry."

Oh Man thank you so much! :-)
Addionally to your changes PLZ fix this Bugs if you can:

- Horses and Oxes at farms cost now gold not only wood!

- "Last Alliance"and other-Tech unlock now trebuchets( e.g Lindon, Eregion...)if the race has acess to trebuchet!!! IMPORTANT OTHERWISE NO BALANCED RACES!!!!!

- Dwarfen Stonework now do not forbid building a castle and castles fire arrows after this research!!!( This bug has fixed as soon as possible!!!!)

- Corsar Ships maybe should have more range. Other civs also need ships with range to bombard coasts.( like Age of Empires 2). Otherwise i think there is no balance at sea maps.

- Replace ridiculous Villagers in Wonder to heroes

- Replace Swan Riders :D( I would like them, if color could changed. But they are always blue.

-Replace Dunedain Archers( I think its the graphic set of the Archers in Age of Empires 1, non? :D horrible!!!

Excellent game. Units are have amazing detail. I don't like the design of the Elven buildings but hey, that's just opinion. I haven't noticed any glaring glitches. **Just a few problems... After opening the game a few times, it stopped playing 'Lord of the Rings main theme' and replaced it with the standard medley. I suppose that if I reinstalled it, it would work just fine but I'm far too lazy. I noticed that Rohan, as an AI, will build the Hornburg rather than the standard castle for that type…
