Galactopticon is a single-player sci-fi comedy FPS starring a gang of hard-boiled interstellar pirates. The epic storyline will be supported by gameplay elements such as ironsight aiming and an RPG-style branching dialogue system.

Dont you mean Tompson? The 1928 Tompson aka the tommy gun, normally used a 50 round mag, the M1 Tompson they used in WW2 held 20 to 50. normally 20 or 30. 50 was rare.

looking at the barrel to drum mag ratio it looks like it could easily hold 72 rounds.

The M1928 Thompson held either 20 or 50 rounds. The M1 held 20. The M1A1 held 30. The Russian WWII SMG, the PPSh, held either 35 or 71.
