Tactical Fleet Simulator 3G Mod Description:
Tactical Fleet Simulator (TFS) is a complex, total overhaul of Homeworld2 with the objective of transforming the game into a tactics-oriented combat simulator. The large selection of units and the high attrition rates combatants suffer greatly enhances the tactical level of gameplay while still retaining real-time strategy elements. Recurring themes are quasi-modern air and naval doctrines modified for three-dimensional movement, complete with a proper unit classification scheme. Grand strategy plays a significant role, with the emphasize on battlefield adaptability, simulated by the large amount of available assets with similar albeit different roles which requires one to be familiarized with specific acronyms and unit types to maintain flexibility. All of this simulates a more immersing, realistic, adrenaline-soaked game experience that the stock version of Homeworld2 failed to deliver. TFS provides Homeworld2 with a relatively balanced, stable and much desired militaristic look and feel.
TFS Features:
The provision of new, more complex strategies and tactics.
Split-second decisions of what units to build and when to deploy.
Exhausting battles add to the fatigue of simulated combat.
New ships, weapon systems, abilities and attack behaviors.
Dynamic weapon systems, unit mobility and far more realistic three-dimensional movement.
A vast and complex unit selection, each with differing or a slight variance in their role.
New game modes and game options prolong the entertainment factor.
More realistic weapon damage relative to ship armor/health.

New TFS v2.6 Wiki Launched (12-13-09)
Neo-Taiidani Imperial State
(Concept design and models by Battlecry) The Neo-Imperial Taiidan State has emerged from the Vaygr Federation as a semi-autonomous faction after the great war. Among their priorities is the reconstruction of their interstellar empire on a new basis. While nominally still a faction of the greater Vaygr federation, the new Imperial state is moving to secure full autonomy and dissolve the Vaygr into a loose confederation of spacefaring civilizations. Among its first acts was the establishment of a vast spacecraft and weapon design and production agency enabling the development and mass production of craft more advanced than the standard Vaygr combat craft. The new Taiidan empire has taken advantage of various Vaygr technologies such as pulse-laser cannons and advanced missiles, further refining them to their specifications resulting in advanced micro-missile technology and improved traditional Taiidani weapon systems as mass drivers.
Caylian Federation
(Ship design and models by Flogger23m) The Caylian are a spacefaring civilization from the outer rim with technology comparable to standard Hiigaran and Vaygr ships. Caylian doctrine places an emphasis on high-powered plasma-based weaponry and agile frigates.

Awesome mod, good job well done. Only problem is there arent any movers. So what you say, well try playing the single player and you will realise that when you find the battleship you need to dock six movers with it. However you cant build any so you cant dock with it. you cant move it with resource collectors, you cant get it with a marine frigate, you cant dock anything with it apart from the 6 movers. So pleaaaaaaaase include movers so i can carry on with the amazing campaign.
Whoever took time to remake game difficulty settings, should have his/her head checked - no I mean it. At Balcora Gates (level 13) there are some two-dozens of enemy battlecruisers waiting and even full scale fast bomber attacks just merelly scraches the paint on that fleet. If heavy equipment is employed, they run into wall of heavy missiles and perish in seconds. In general great frigate model FFG that pops targets from great distance is so underpowered that it brings a tear into eye (hint, make weapons upgradeable - please, nice please). The only good anti-capital corvet (heavy bomber) can be built in limited quantity (8 is too few) and they are somewhat slow, even compared to frigates.
In conclusion, again I whined about game balance and gave no credit for great effort that has been made - not quite so, cause now I´ll get back to punish myself with that mod, since I freakin´ have to beat that game and best credit for mod is people who waste their time playing it.
Several game-balance problems (especially annoying are droid fighters), minor bugs (like Monitor armor upgrade reducing initial value).
Severe hit to graphics processing (giving missiles to allmost every ship in game is not such a good idea when flight trails ARE ENABLED. I dramatically increased frame rate by reverse evgineering Your mod a bit - it was a HINT for future release).
At first confusing ship stats buildup (all those abrevations reduce enjoyment and give a headache - the range markers are superb though, very comfy).
The second good thing is that this mod can be played in campaign mode ... not too many support that gameplay type. I also suggest to use more modular tech tree in future releace (i.e. some basic chassis can be built in motherhip or other station and afterwards different weaponry can be attached. You used it only on some capital ships, why not on minor ones too?
An finally - keep up a good work ... FASTER, it´s a year 2006 allready guys!
This mod looks good
Hey guys
I'm new at this so please help me out. How do you retrieve the dreadnaught in single player game with the new TFS Mod? Maybe I didn't pay attention somewhere, but I really don't know how to do it.
Thanks
I'm having trouble loading a game in Skirmish mode. Every time it gets to Scarscript it crashes. It probably is something stupid that I haven't thought about doing, but if someone could help me that would be great. I've seen this mod and have to say it seems impressive.
i luv dis mode, i could not belive the amount of fire power put into it all :O
but what i think would be a great addition to hw2 is the progenitors ;)
When i first heard about this mod, i didn't have much hope for it (seeing as how the basic Homeworld 2 laughed maniacally at how weak your fighters/bombers are.) and upon first look, It seemed to complicate the mess of wondering what ship to build. But after testing it out for one game, i was convinced that this was a keeper. everything felt almost perfectly balanced, and fighters/bombers finally have a meaningful role instead of just harrassing other fighter squadrons and picking off resource collectors. As fleetmaster said, the long range missilers add dimensions to fighter rushing. This is a must-have Mod for Homeworld 2!
Awsome modd. Much more better than the origional HW2. I consider this to be the elite version... noobs use the origional to get ready for the hard-play. Its a little complex at first, but now I have the hang of it. Thanks Battlecry.

Wow, I am truly amazed with this mod. I just downloaded the TFS v1.8 version, and I am speechless. This is defiantly how Homeworld 2 was meant to be released, I love the new ships, they make the strategy much more complex. I also like how ships have a more decent amount of weapons; it actually feels like a battlefield now. And another really nice thing about this mod is that fighters are no longer underpowered as they were in the stock Homeworld 2.
This is defiantly the best mod for Homeworld 2, and this is how the game should have been in the first place. Great job.Big Grin! :thumbup:Thumbs Up! Thumbs Up!
