System Shock Infinite 2.0 has been released!

We are pleased to announce that the beta phase is now over and the mod can be played in full.
The team wishes to thank all who contributed to the project with their tests and reports!

System Shock Infinite is a story mod which extends the original finale with a quest to restore the amnesiac protagonist's identity, through hundreds of new events in the main campaign. Since version 2.0, the quest continues into all-new Cyberspace levels and features a plotline with multiple endings. Enjoy our extended trailer for a complete preview of the mod!

What is the story about? System Shock 2 never ended: to this day, the amnesiac player is still trapped in Shodan's virtual reality. Taking inspiration from Solaris and Groundhog Day, the story presents you with a stream of hallucinations about your lost comrades. Each has their point of view on the situation and yourself. The ones you trust rebuild your new identity, breaking the stalemate. Full script.

How does it play like? Shaken, not stirred: the new events are familiar variations of the vanilla ones. To tackle the issue of difficulty within the previous version, combat in 2.0 can be as advanced as you like. Play on the lower difficulties and you get a FPS with rpg elements. Play on the hardest setting and you get an RPG with shooting mechanics, requiring good knowledge of the skills system.

I've currently got these mods in the DataPermMods folder - is Infinite going to have a problem with these?

It seems I have run into another strange bug. If I leave the central part of the recreation deck into the crews quarters, everything resets. And it seems that I'm leaving the Infinite Content entirely, since returning to the central chamber showed a character who shouldn't have been there while Marie is gone.

Are there no Marie in this reset level, is it a vanilla one or just an Infinite one you're vising like new? I need to know which level you were in, before you switched and got this bug (Recreational with garden? With shops? Another deck with elevator?). I guess you are playing v1.7, and didn't update your installation along the way. I'm investigating, but these random bugs just pop out when the game is run for several hours (but you can still progress, right?).

I was in the central part, so the first area you reach from the elevator. And from there I went into the crew's quarters (after getting the Ops Override Key) and it did seem like Vanilla System Shock, since there were no Maries or any other objects that should have been in Infinite.
And the other areas seemed to be the same after that, which is why I simply reloaded. All the other doors work fine, though.

And yeah, I did use 1.7 after making the game mod-ready. It's placed in the FM directory if that helps.
And I got all the way to the end of the mod, although I got stuck since I never looked at the notes and had to read up about destroying the black eggs, since the door to the bridge doesn't open if they're intact. It's been too long since I played the original.

I have been looking for errors in the changelevel triggers, but couldn't find any. I can only guess that due a bug, vanilla resources were loaded instead of the modded ones. :\ Good thing you were still able to compete the game, you can check the alternate ending requirements and videos around here.

I appear to be stuck. I entered Polito's room, moved towards her body, a few lines of text appeared and then...nothing. I can't even leave since I'm trapped by invisible walls.

Nothing happens even if you wait a lot? Sounds like a random bug, it would be best to reload a previous savegame. If you haven't one, try this fix and see if you can continue the level.

How did you get the weapons to fit into small slots in the inventory? I want to adapt that into vanilla Shock for the pistol, so it takes up to two slots instead of three.

Open a map in Shocked, then hit F5 and look for Physical -> Weapon. Double click on Weapon, and check Obj -> InvDims (1, 3). If you change it to (1, 2), all weapons will occupy just two slots. You can also assign each weapon a different size. Save your changes with File -> Save Gamesys -> Shock2.gam. If you need them, feel free to use the icon graphics from Infinite!

Okay, done that but I'm guessing this only applies to new weapons you pick up? I changed the pistol to 1,2 in the Rec1.mis map but the pistol I already have in my inventory is still in 3 slots (and I don't know where another pistol is in this level).

Check below for more instructions and a zip file with an example. When you need to gear up quickly in the game, bring down the console with "**** + ;" and type: "summon_obj pistol", "summon_obj weapon trainer", "add_pool 999".

I replied to the email I got of your reply xdiesp_, I see you edited your post to include the bit about saving to Shock2.gam!

The pistol can fit only into the bottom two rows and when swapping while it's equipped it goes back into three slots instead of two. I don't actually have Infinite installed as this present time - was planning to do that after finishing the main game.

What you need to do, is: 1) doubleclick on Physical->Weapon and check that its InvDims is "1,3" (it's a precaution); then 2) doubleclick on Physical->Weapon->Conventional->Pistol and add Obj->InvDims "1,2" (this is your actual modding). I uploaded both a shock2.gam file with this, and the small icon file, here: If you need more of these small icons, download the mod and check its \Objicons\ folder. It might have happened that you got a bug, because you had the right code and the wrong icon.
