Synergy is a Half-Life 2 co-opertive multiplayer modification.

We have evolved from multiple mods (DC Co-op 2, Dev Co-op and Tim-Coop).  This modification strives to give Half-Life players a true Half-Life 2 cooperative experience.

The mod features our own levels and the ability to play the Half-Life 2, Episode One and Episode Two campaigns cooperatively.

In addition, you can add more content by installing third-party mods, such as ROCK 24 and MINERVA: Metastasis, then playing them in Synergy!

Hello everyone!

It has been pretty chaotic, to say the least, the past few months with real life events happening.  Finally though, this new version of Synergy is ready for public use!

The most significant feature to this version, would be the nearly flawless Linux server - *provided* that you move the other shared game directories ("hl2", "episodic", "ep2", "metastasis", "minerva", "rock 24", ...) out of the "orangebox" directory and onto a partition using a case-insensitive filesystem (such as VFAT or NTFS) and then symlink to those directories from the "orangebox" directory, or alternatively if you don't have such a partition, you can use ciopfs.

Of course, that only applies to server administrators using Linux.

Players would be interested in these things:

 * multiplayer auto-save points - where players are at save time, is where they will be restored to if a load occurs
 * two new voice menu commands
 * implemented voting system - players can vote kick, change level, reload last save point and change skill level
 * updated to the new source code base - this gives us a 100% working third-person view camera, TF2 player avoidance and stability
 * made it easier to donate by showing the player's Steam ID on the DONOR FEATURES window
 * updates to entities: point_viewcontrol, info_player_equip, player_loadsaved
 * many bug fixes and crashes have been fixed

You can view the full change log for version 14 right here.

I apologize for the long wait, please enjoy this update!

Is there any way to enable the restart map when all players die on my server? I really liked that, it made it much harder.

Reock's Reveiws

Basicly this mod does what it says it does, provides half-life 2 players the ability to experience Co-Op play, there are usualy about eight or so servers going with people in them at any time, generaly these servers are running official games (HL2, EP1, EP2) rather then any custom maps but the option IS there and they do pop up occasionaly. I use synergy in conjunction with obsidian conflict to give me a fairly respectable play field with co-op play, OC tends to lean more twards co-op maps and I'll have a comparable review for that game shortly as both are very similar and its my belief that rather then picking one over the other its better to use both so you can have a larger range of options for play. Both suffer from a couple of flaws, random explodey deaths when riding elevators or when near doors. Also where your game would load the next level in single player, thats where these co-op modes load the next level, a fairly lengthy process.

Enjoy co-op play? Download! nuff said.

I can't view any servers when I click "join server" or whatever. I've reinstalled and reinstalled and still the same crap. I know there are servers because I joined some off of my friends when they HAD it. But they don't have it anymore, so there's NO WAY for me to join servers. Synergy is NOT perfect for reasons like this, Veriquitas. At least when I play Sven I can join servers.

You need to un-check the "Show Map List" option in the in-game Server Browser first.

Firstly I’m not sure why you are directing your comment at me? Secondly If you read closely I never once said that the software (ie. Servers, installing, etc) was perfect. My entire post was focusing on game play comparison of Sven and Synergy and which I had assumed was quite clear to all. Personally my brother and I have to switch accounts because when he plays on his it says, he does not own the game. Perhaps if you want to get an answer I would suggest visiting their forum on their website : perhaps one these posts could shead some light; They are having the same problem
Synergymod.net could resolve
Synergymod.net also could resolve
They say pretty well the same thing that making sure the proper game's are check in the "Game List" menu and both cases were resolved. Remember to restart Synergy after checking off the games.
Whether this fixes your problem or not, I‘m not sure why your post was directed at me.

P.S. I suppose I was a bit harsh on TyeTheCzar but after playing Sven my spirit in co-op mods were crushed and stomped on. Until Synergy of course. I suppose I should respect his opinion where its right or wrong.
P.P.S. I don’t apologies for my comment on his sentence because people need to put in the time to type In REAL English. My post are no where near perfect but the difference is easily seen.

You actually do have to uncheck Show Map List in the server browser. It's in the bottom left corner.

That issue has been fixed already; Valve's update went live around the same time our's did. Valve has corrected the error.

What are you talking about? Sven co-op made half-life 1 a run and gun mod that did not feel like Half-life at all. If I wanted a mindless running and gunning mod that look like the 90's, I would go play duke nukem or Quake 2. Maybe Sven could join us in 2009 instead of releasing things that would have been great IN THEIR TIME. To even compare Synergy and Sven Co-op Is like comparing Gordon Freeman to Master Chief. Synergy keeps the thrill and feel of half-life 2. Synergy is perfect. If i want to play a half-life Title Sven is not going to deliver what I want nor any other person who wants to play Half-Life Co-op; Ever! And if you want something that is "more competitive with Sven Coop" Your not going to find it here because they are 2 completely different mods gameplay style. Sven is arcade, and Synergy is co-operative. If synergy fall the level of Sven they will both lose my respect and support. Synergy for ever.

P.S.

IMO this game needs to be more competitive with Sven Coop.

This sentence lack all the criteria to be a real sentence and exudes a meaning people can understand.
