Synergy is a Half-Life 2 co-opertive multiplayer modification. We have evolved from multiple mods (DC Co-op 2, Dev Co-op and Tim-Coop) to offer you the greatest co-op experience. This modification strives to give Half-Life players a true Half-Life 2 cooperative experience. The mod features our own levels and the ability to play the Half-Life 2, Episode One and Episode Two campaigns co-operatively. In addition, you can add more content by installing third-party mods, such as ROCK 24 and MINERVA: Metastasis, then playing them in Synergy!

The first Source-powered mods to be distributed via Steam will be released Thursday, October 2nd.

Posted by stenchy on Oct 1st, 2008

Update: Release has been postponed until tomorrow (Friday, October 3rd) due to technical difficulties. When released, you will be able to find the mods in the "uninstalled" section of your "My games" tab within Steam.

This Thursday is big. For the first time ever, mods will be delivered through Valve's digital distribution platform thus opening up new opportunities to both mods and Steam alike. Five different mods were selected to be integrated using Steamworks which helps streamline the delivery, installation, and update process. Some of the mods will even have other features like achievements and stat tracking, with others gaining added functionality in future updates. The majority of mods selected also have significant content updates, so be sure give them all a shot. Automatic installation means you have no excuse not to!

For the uninitiated, here's a quick look at the five mods that are the first to make their way onto the Steam platform:

Age of Chivalry

A story-based, objective-driven multiplayer melee mod. Siege castles, raid towns and execute peasants using an extensive FPS melee combat system. Ensure victory in a campaign that spans over several maps.

hopefully things wont happen to these mods like it did to TFC (before TF2 even was addressed to the public). A great game, but it died at totally the wrong time.

DIPRIP is the best mod! It's easy to learn, indeed, and easy to play, and doesn't take much time. It's very cool game when you just want to play for 10 mins or 15 mins. Games usually ends before time reaches 15 mins so it's pretty good game.

Beware! This game is alive! And so shall you do! This game is speedy, and it also has much intensity in it. Keep running! That's the only way to survive and to win the game.

The game is simple. CTF and deliever the bomb. Very simple. But, it also contains great intensity I've never experienced. However, this game isn't also just simple. It still requires some tactics and if you think this game is just piece of crash and kill, you've already lost even before you've started the game. :)

I don't know what DIPRIP guys have done with the update, but one thing is obvious. They are fcked up. So many servers are gone, (I see very few. 6 servers. Where are all the servers?) People aren't even online now, something is dead wrong.

-RIP "D.I.P.R.I.P"-

A good mod is now gone for some reason. How poor is that? /sadface
