Synergies is full conversion and balance mod for Torchlight 2!

Towns in Synergies
Synergies adds 2 Custom made towns ( Table Mountain and Selrock ) each one of them has it's own specific vendors.

Changes to the Balance of the Game.
- Reworked difficulty settings. Synergies is built around Veteran and Elite, but the MOD itself is much harder than the Vanilla version of the game, you will notice this from the start.
- Random affixes on each monster that you encounter, making them unique.
- Reworked Skill unlock Rate, they unlock at a earlier rate, but take longer to progress between points, ending at or above vanilla standards.
- Reworked Fame Levels, a total of 50 to unlock!
- Reworked Enchantment Stats, lower stat enchants allow for end game progression and better balance.
- Vanilla Characters Skills have begun to be reworked to address the balance changes. We plan to continue tweaking them.
- The ability to store gold and to transfer it between your characters through the money changer!
- The ability to summon your Stashes everywhere.
- Respec and Stat potions.
- Gear is better, monsters are harder, all bosses are harder.
- Green and Blue magical items have better affix rates, Unique's have better base DPS and Armor.
- Two handed and dual wielding have better bonus's to bring them closer to the benefit of wearing a shield.
- Monsters spawn more numerous throughout the game.

Crafting in Synergies
- A whole new crafting system (Soulcrafting), only found in Synergies for end game armor!
- Chaos Ember Crafting.
- Craftable Damage absorption gems (up to 7% in DR).

Synergies Legendary Items
- Over 300 new Legendary equipment, 30 in general play through, 90 in tier0 content and 240+ in tier1 content!

Endgame Dungeons in Synergies
1) Derinkuyu Raid (Tier0).
Derinkuyu is a custom dungeon only found in Synergies. In here you will find 18 Synergies exclusive Bosses that each drop a Synergies Legendary equipment.
Getting to the bosses is really hard because you have to fight your way through hundreds of unique monsters. Each and every one of the portals is guarded by a Guardian Spirit, can you defeat him ?

2) Or'ak Basin Zone (Tier 0.5)
This is the Troll homeland. This place is filled with Ancient Trolls that try to kill you. In here you will find Synergies Legendary equipment and Legendary Skulls in order to make your character stronger, this zone is also subjected to a minor debuff making it harder to progress through without a end game load out.

3) Darknessfalls Raid (Tier1)
Darknessfalls is an outdoor raid dungeon that will sport all the newest and hardest boss encounters in the dungeon, and be the place where you collect all the highest end game items within synergies. The zone has a 30% debuff to the player allowing for more growth and longevity in the loot searching..

Alternative leveling dungeons
4) Realms of Discord Leveling dungeon
The Realms of Discord are a series of small dungeons all chained to each other. It is currently the best place to level up your characters because every monster scales to your level. In here you will find the following levels.
Catacombs, Generic Cave, Desert Cave, Bandit Camp, Gorge, Ice Pass, Sewers, Dwarven Armory, The Nether, Crab Trap, levels and 6 Boss fights that have been reworked and added to for Synergies.

5) The Unstable Embers (alternative leveling)
The Unstable Embers are a portal scroll bought in Selrock. Going into the zone and destroying the Crystals you will get to fight a series of Monsters and Bosses. Can you Survive all the waves and make it through this dungeon alive?

6) Clockwork series of swarm maps
Can be bought from the Selrock vendors as well. Opening a portal to the Clockwork zone. You fight swarms of Champions, or boss monsters or community mercenaries depending on which one you enter. These scale to your level and can be a very interesting and fun alternative means to level.

Custom Classes in Synergies
- Synergies offers currently 3 custom Classes, these are:
1) The Necromancer - the spell casting, melee capable minion master is back at it in SynergiesMOD!
2) The Paladin - The close in your face fighting style, being developed by Ghostblade!
3) The Warlock - A duo charge bar using Melee capable spellcaster that is extremely unique in its design. Take on the Nether or Hell itself, play a warlock!
4) The Ranger and more!

Other Changes
- The ability to find and Summon Mercenaries in order to help you with your fights, found in end game dungeons.
- New HP / Mana and Fame UI
- New pets associated with the Necromancer, Paladin and Warlock
- New Hero monsters
- New Elite monsters
- New Rare Dragons
- New Ancient Trolls
- New Roaming world bosses in the regular play through!
- New avenging Angels

Future of Synergies
Our goal is to completely convert Torchlight 2's balance into a more unforgiving and exciting experience. Ultimately we want to make an act 5 and likely act 6 for this game. Our Dev team is working on new Textures for models, maps, new classes, new sounds for the characters, and icons for the characters. Expect to be surprised by the quality of our releases and a dev team which is dedicated to being active both in development but community building. On top of that we the creator of this mod, Salan, has worked for over 13 months on this project, sometimes with excessively large updates on a weekly to daily basis.

WARNING ON MOD CONFLICTS and PERMISSION OF USE OF SYNERGIES IN ANY COMPILATION.
SynergiesMOD adds or changes 18000+ files and is updated in an aggressively active manner. This mod is known to conflict with other large conversions, or compilation mods. Combining use of two large mods seems to work generally in Singleplayer but can cause SYNC issues with Multiplayer where the host of the game crashes to desktop. This is purely a mod conflict. Mods known to conflict with synergies and NOT work in the Multiplayer environment: TL2 Essentials (which shares close to 1200+ files with synergies).

Be aware that Synergies BINDS your saves, back up your save before playing synergies if you intend to remove it.

The Thrice locked chest quest line takes the player through 9 new boss encounters found within Darknessfalls raid instance! The player will travel across Fahakin infested lands, the Nethermill and into the Nether itself while on their journey!

You will find Reghir the quest giver in the southern reaches of Darknessfalls, in order to acquire his quest you must have talked to Drek in Tablemountain previously.

Reghir's first quest will find the player completing "Creating a Diversion" as they hunt Sord'its the Fahakin General within the raid instance.

After Sord'its is slain the player will return to Reghir and collect the first of the keys.

The second quest is the players chance to hunt Abe the skeletal pirate (named after TL2 level developer) in "To relieve the Torment"

Abe is no normal Pirate, he has been trapped for eternity within Darknessfalls as punishment for his turning upon his once rulers, the Fahakin. In order to deal with Abe you must help him become human by defeating his Spectral and skeletal forms, and then finally put him out of his misery by ending his mortal life forever!

With Abe out of the way the player will receive the second key, and open up the next of the quests "To kill a King"

To kill a king takes the player on a hunt to defeat the Troll king before his forces can free him from his imprisonment. Located in a cellar on the west side of Darknessfalls the player must clear a new segment of the raid dungeon in order to gain entrance. Once inside the Troll King goes through various stages until the player finally pushes him into a rage that triggers the final show down. Killing the kings advisors and Ancient Warhound during the rage will stop his stacking buffs from being applied.

With Jal'kor removed the player returns to Reghir and gains the 3rd key in the chain. At this point the player can take the first three keys, and visit the Transmuter which stands just south of Reghir. Putting all three keys into the combiner window they can create the first of the Golden keys!

And thus the player has crafted the First of 3 golden keys. They must follow this routine for 6 more quests, every 3 keys transmutes into a golden key, and at the end, the golden keys transmute themselves into the Thrice pronged Golden Key.

After the Troll king is dealt with the player moves on to dealing with the evil dragons the Fahakin have trapped and enslaved to their desires.

in "To kill a Dragon Killer" the player will find themselves on a platue defending a golden dragon named Nysygarr from the Dragon killer Tor'hez.

Tor'hez spawns amongst a large contingent of Fahakin warriors and mages. The fight is like nothing you have seen in Torchlight, and while potentially taxing older computers its chaotic tempo will have you frantically trying to slay the Fahakin while juggling threat towards yourself and your allied dragons!

With Tor'hez dead, and hopefully Nysygarr still alive, you gain another key and move on to the Dragon Tower fight. A re-invisioned fight from the leveling process where you once fought Vyrax. This time the fight is with Rhoeth and Rylss a ancient Red and Black dragon team and the quest is called "To be a Dragon Killer".

The fight sees the dragons swapping places throughout, coming to each others aid and driving the player closer and closer to death with each pass. A blue dragon constantly hovers over the battlefield, strafing the player with fireballs as well.

After dealing with the Double dragons and gaining the 5th key the player gets the chance to take vengeance upon the lurking blue dragon with the quest called "To slay the DragonLord".

Rak'Var is no pushover. His summoning portal lays just north of Reghir and the fight takes place within the raid instance itself. The fight is a 3 phased fight, fighting Rak'Var and his horde of blue dragons, then his humanoid form and then fighting Rak'Var again with the help of Reghir in his dragonform himself!

Once Rek'Var is slain the player gains the 6th key, and is able to transmute the last 3 into the second golden key!

With the Dragons out of the way the player is instructed to attack the Nethermill itself. A zone to the north of Darknessfalls where the Executioner and Warlock await.

in "Execute the Executioner" The player faces off against the Executioner, a two staged fight. It is important to note that the zone debuffs within the Nethermill are stronger then the rest of Darknessfalls. You may have to gear slightly stronger Damage resistance to succeed here!

With the Executioner dead the player returns to Darknessfalls and gains the 7th key, then must return to the Nethermill, pass where the Executioner spawned and fight the warlock in "The Nether Menace".

The Nether Warlock is a 4 staged fight. First you must kill his familiars as he shifts through the stages of Warlock mastery: Hellfire, Mana Burned and finally Nether Void. Once the first three stages are dealt with the master takes full form and you can kill him so long as none of his pets are resummoned, if they, deal with them first, then back to the warlock!

Defeating the warlock gives the player the 8th key, and opens the quest to the final show down "Slay the Subjugator"

This leads the player into the Nether itself! Within the Nether the player must locate the Hellfire, and bring it back to the spawning point to light the 5 pillars found there. Once they are lit the Syrel'Khan the Netherlord will spawn to do battle.

While fighting Syrel'Khan the player must constantly kill all Tentacles he summons for while they live, he is undamagable. His NetherCasters can be ignored but they will quickly gain numbers and threaten to overwhelm the player, a high Missile Reflection ability is needed for this fight!

Hey incredible work on the mod, I really appreciate all the work you've put into it. I just wanted to express a few concerns. The first being the fact that you can add full armor to pets like the hawk or owl. It defies logic and seems to overpower them. Second I'm not quite sure why you have 10 inventory sections without any indication of what location you are at within the inventory, it feels rather cluttered. Also through testing, the Ninja has a few skills that are listed in an abnormal order and a few of the new hairstyles for the barbarian (and perhaps others) are improperly rendered on the back of the head. Sorry if this sounds nitpicky, seriously amazing work so far and I can't wait to see what else will be coming up in the future. Also you mentioned that you will perhaps be adjusting the new early skill unlocks soon, will that have any impact on characters already created if we update the mod? Can I continue updating dynamically or should I just wait to play until the mod has reached a more advanced point? Thanks a lot!

I don't see why you would want to wait, unlike a lot of mods that are WORK IN PROGRESS this mod is fully functional and integrated. It IS a work in progress, obviously it will be for a good year or two. I strive to keep it updating and moving in the right direction, but I'm breaking new ground here and its a progress to not only add it all, but balance and tweak and fix.

Try it out, you won't be dissapointed by the gameplay!

I'm not changing early skill unlocks again in the immediate future. I have had good feedback on the change to date, and not planning to adjust it again.

10 inventory slots actually does tell you which one you are on if you put your mouse over the inventory. Its not exactly hard to figure out, but also not blatantly obvious. Once GUTS comes out Lyravega is making a new inventory system adn we'll most likely be moving to that posthaste. Inventory layouts are a pain!

When you hit the end game of synergies your pets will be far from overpowered, but during the leveling process perhaps a bit touch and go, the graphs might need to be lowered to compensate for sure.

Ninja you need to refer to Epoch on my site, he's developing it and balancing it atm. I haven't had enough practice with his files to truly comment.

This is definitely a ten out of ten. From new classes to new creatures to new pets, hair styles, weapons, as well as a total rebalance of the entire game..this does it all. The Runic team did a great job, this adds to their design in a meticulously thought out way.
