Sven Co-op for Half-Life 2, sequel to the popular Sven Co-op mod for Half-Life, will add co-operative multiplayer (players vs. computer-controlled enemies) to Valve's "Half-Life 2" (Among other things).
Sven Co-op, the original Half-Life co-operative mod, is currently the most popular co-operative modification in the world, with over 500,000 recorded downloads of Sven Co-op version 3.0.
Sven Co-op for Half-Life 2 will benefit not only from Half-Life 2’s highly advanced engine, greater volume of content and extensive feature set, but also from new and innovative gameplay resulting from four years of experience with the genre. Among the new features will be the ability for mapmakers to create their own game modes, and features to make gameplay more rewarding.
"Our current plan is to release a beta version of the mod as soon as we have the HL2 single-player storyline working well co-operatively... giving you all something to play (and the mapping community something to work with) while we work on more advanced features."

This mod looks great, I've been playing Sven-Coop for Half life and I'm completely hooked. The NPCs are nicely done and the gameplay is extremely intense. This mod will be a winner I guarentee, I hope you all complete this mod. Goodluck.

Are you going to be able to play the normal half life 2 in coop, i mean with no new creatures and maps? cause i just want to do the normal story on multiplayer

Why did they put this mod on hold just to continue developement on Sven Co-op 1?
I think people would've preferred to have Sven co-op 2 now rather than the next version of Sven Co-op 1.
I'm very dissappointed the team is adding content to SC1.. I don't get why at all.. but whatever.
ModWatched, but I won't be paying any attention until I see that SC2 is back in progress.
This mod is not dead, in fact once they finish Sven Co-Op 3.5 they will continue on this. End of discussion.
The people below who are bashing this mod are stupid. You all need to do some research before making claims, because when you are wrong, it makes you look retarded. They are going to finish this mod, but they said that it was foolish of them to think they could do 2 mods at once. So, they have stated that they are going to go through and finish sven coop 3.5 and discontinue work on 1, then they are starting on 2, but theres now way you could have not known that, right
Indeed, I would have played this SVEN 2 but I've had a enough of SVEN 1 even if a new version comes out.
