Sven Co-op for Half-Life 2, sequel to the popular Sven Co-op mod for Half-Life, will add co-operative multiplayer (players vs. computer-controlled enemies) to Valve's "Half-Life 2" (Among other things).
Sven Co-op, the original Half-Life co-operative mod, is currently the most popular co-operative modification in the world, with over 500,000 recorded downloads of Sven Co-op version 3.0.
Sven Co-op for Half-Life 2 will benefit not only from Half-Life 2’s highly advanced engine, greater volume of content and extensive feature set, but also from new and innovative gameplay resulting from four years of experience with the genre. Among the new features will be the ability for mapmakers to create their own game modes, and features to make gameplay more rewarding.
"Our current plan is to release a beta version of the mod as soon as we have the HL2 single-player storyline working well co-operatively... giving you all something to play (and the mapping community something to work with) while we work on more advanced features."

is svencoop2 dead???
sven coop 2 is not dead they sven coop team decided they will continue to work on sven coop 1 till it is dont (been working on it 10 years) once they dont they leave it and start here sven coop 2
cant wait for sc 1 to be done and then this
They are probably gonna release 5.0 as the last update
They keep saying this is frozen until they finish the updates for the current Sven Coop, but every time they finish, they just start developing more updates. I don't know what that means for this, I'm just saying.
The main reason why they're not working on it anymore is because they want to finish off the first Sven. I hope anyway, but that's what I had heard.
i want this mod so bad since i heard rumors of half life 2. ths first thing that did come to my mind was AMG maybe there will come a sven coop 2 also!! i was so super happy :( now im sad panda
So is this really dead? wasn't the devs busy with HL1 version? I read that the developement is only "freezed" for now...rumors? boh
