Sven Co-op for Half-Life 2, sequel to the popular Sven Co-op mod for Half-Life, will add co-operative multiplayer (players vs. computer-controlled enemies) to Valve's "Half-Life 2" (Among other things).
Sven Co-op, the original Half-Life co-operative mod, is currently the most popular co-operative modification in the world, with over 500,000 recorded downloads of Sven Co-op version 3.0.
Sven Co-op for Half-Life 2 will benefit not only from Half-Life 2’s highly advanced engine, greater volume of content and extensive feature set, but also from new and innovative gameplay resulting from four years of experience with the genre. Among the new features will be the ability for mapmakers to create their own game modes, and features to make gameplay more rewarding.
"Our current plan is to release a beta version of the mod as soon as we have the HL2 single-player storyline working well co-operatively... giving you all something to play (and the mapping community something to work with) while we work on more advanced features."

Good god man! I'm addiictied to Sven-Coop, if there is a Sven-Coop made from the Half-life source engine im am sure to have an orgasm!
I can't wait 'til SC2. I just beat HL2 and the only thing to look forward to now is all the xclnt mods....Sven being at the top of my list.

sven co-op was awsome for hl 1 and ASSUMING (i dont have the game:cry:) hl2 is alot better theres a 124.529362104619436% chance of sven co-opII

what the hell are you boy's on about, i dont think this mod would ever die.
It has a huge fan base, of course it isnt as popular as Counter strike. But when you think HL 1...If your a real fan, you've got to think about Sven Co-op. It was an awesome mod!

I disagree. Half-Life 2 supposedly DOES have built-in co-op, but due to shortage of spawn points, I doubt that it will allow more than 2-4 players. Sven Co-op will probably include a wider variety of weaponry, and more open maps, being able to accomodate a large amount of players (not that Half-Life 2 won't have large maps already...)
for some reason i think hl2 might include cooperative. because supposedly theres no scripted sequences. theres nothing stopping them from doing so.
in that case this mod would be obsolete.

I think at E3 they were talking about game like Seven Co-op......... I am very interesting to look forward this game
