Sven Co-op for Half-Life 2, sequel to the popular Sven Co-op mod for Half-Life, will add co-operative multiplayer (players vs. computer-controlled enemies) to Valve's "Half-Life 2" (Among other things).
Sven Co-op, the original Half-Life co-operative mod, is currently the most popular co-operative modification in the world, with over 500,000 recorded downloads of Sven Co-op version 3.0.
Sven Co-op for Half-Life 2 will benefit not only from Half-Life 2’s highly advanced engine, greater volume of content and extensive feature set, but also from new and innovative gameplay resulting from four years of experience with the genre. Among the new features will be the ability for mapmakers to create their own game modes, and features to make gameplay more rewarding.
"Our current plan is to release a beta version of the mod as soon as we have the HL2 single-player storyline working well co-operatively... giving you all something to play (and the mapping community something to work with) while we work on more advanced features."

This game is not in development, due to the decision that the Sven-coop team finish their Sven-coop project first before they move onto something else.
it looks dead cause i havent seen any new anything nothing new on this mod so its dead
its not dead yet they have decided to finish sven coop 1 before they release the beta for 2
hm, "finish"? that kind of thing never gets 100% finished since there's always some new stuff to add... did they mean that they'll stop working on it and all the newer stuff is going to be made by fanbase instead?
looks cool
man, sven coop was awesome in HL1 (even though it was unnaturaly hard, I still loved it, trying to overcome enemies stronger than the player), with the source engine it can get only better. Im hoping for more of those awesome scenarios with a small storyline to em, it never got old. I just wish 2 people could play on 1 steam account so my bro and I could play together without steam kicking whoever was on first off...

the mod team's still busy working on the HL1 mod, if they ever get round to working on this mod I doubt it'd be out anytime in the first half of 2009 so please don't hold your breath.
