Hey this is my first sourcemod. I install the SDK AND the 2006 base as well?

You just need the "Source SDK Base 2006" one. Remember to run it once before installing, it's a benchmark tool when launched without mods. It will be installed into SteamApps\Common\SourceSDKBase.

It's free on Steam: go to Library -> Tools, and it's there among dediated servers and toolkits.

RAAAGH. Installer's botching the program because it thinks I don't have a "Tier0.dll" file anywhere on my computer. Anyone know a fix?

When it says that, it's not finding a piece of the SDK2006. That error is very hard to fix. Try the archive version of the mod.

I've got the same problem, and I don't know how to fix it, I've tried the archive version, but the mod can't even run.

Make sure you run the installer from Sourcemods, and that the SDK2006 is installed. The archive version is run through Steam, normally. It's a very annoying bug that sometimes doesn't fix.

Yo, I heard that this mod changes the hl2.exe file in the source 2006 sdk base, will this affect my ability to play other mods?

It's not exactly like that: the archive version of the mod, to be installed manually if you can't run the installer, has that hl2.exe file because otherwise the VR Missions gamemode would not load. If you use the installer version, you'll have no dealings with that file. If you use the archive version, you can skip the VR Missions, or you can backup your older hl2.exe file not to compromise other mods.

The smod standalone installer isn't finding the Source SDK 2006 files. Install it and run it once, then run the installer with admin rights. Failing that, use the archive version.

Install Source SDK 2006 and run the installer as administrator. If that fails too, try the archive version of the mod (read its installation instructions).

There's 2 versions of the mod. The installer one, which includes and requires Smod Standalone. And the archive one, which doesn't (instead, you have to move hl2.exe in Source SDK Base).

I dont know why people using stone age ways on there pc.
Ok download the mod it will be either zip, rar, 7zip. Now I use 7zip because it's compatible with everything. OK. Right click on the mod file and select extract to.
now browse to your source mods folder. Click ok. Restart steam. Also, set SDK to Beta updates.
