In Subject 311 you play as an unnamed prisoner/test subject who awakens to find themselves locked in an unknown lab on a private archepelego, in a hidden war between a rogue weapons firm and various Government Agencies.

The firm, known as Nova, represent both legitimate and illegitimate interests, most notable among them being weapons manufacture and development. One area of weapons research extends into the creation of viral and biological life forms and their effect on human biology. Consequently the company uses illegal means to recruit volunteers, which it then uses as test subjects for its various concoctions.

With concerns over the company's more and more outrageous acts, governments who had supported Nova withdrew funding and found themselves forced to act. Unfortunately for them, Nova had advanced further then anyone had imagined.
The use of viral carriers for DNA re-sequencing had gone incredibly well. Your strength, speed and resilience have pushed beyond the human limit and Nova has succeeded in its creation of a "super soldier" process.

Unfortunately, not all Nova's work resulted in such success; there are "others". Some captives have become monsters/cannibalistic or savage, murderous automatons or hunters of men and, like you, all of Nova's test subjects have awakened into newfound freedom.
Now, hunted down by ruthless soldiers, thinking that you are a cannibalistic monster, you have to ask yourself a question:

Are you?

Well, yes. By now, we have been around for quite a while, but as many of you don't know about Subject 311, I thought I'd introduce it to you :)

Subject 311 is a Crysis modification focusing on giving the player the option to choose his gameplay style. What we want to deliver is an intriguing story as well as fun and exciting gameplay.
As story goes, you step into the shoes of Subject 311, a test subject of the multimillion dollar research company Nova.
When you wake up inside the great complex, you flee the inside and find yourself on a huge tropical island. What's next is up to you, but in the end it's all about escaping the island, and with it, Nova.

Hopefully very soon. Our artist made a scetch of one of the potential characters, but due to lack of voice actors and some other things, we decided to cut out the most of the characters.
Right now he is working on a concept of one of the monsters. Was supposed to have a scetch finished til today. I'll ask him right away (he tends to be late :P).

They can still make models, make textures, make concept art, plan, make a website, and possibly even code tho i doubt it. A game not being released doesnt stop you from making the concepts thinking up the story, creating the models, make the textures. It just stops you from finishing the models/textures and putting them in the right format and into the game. And doing everything realated with the engine.
