The main idea behind this mod was to bring back all the features that did not make it to the final version of the game. To further improve it, I also added some new weapons, fixed some dead-ends and made the world more interactive so you may enjoy it more. Many objects can be destroyed, used or taken to be used later. Since it took some of my time to make, I hope you'll love the mod.

Were the environment sounds always so loud? I'm only just finding this mod and it's terrific fun to revisit with so far! Only issue is all the torches and water sounds have been wayy too loud, so in areas with many of these, they overpower even the sounds of my gun.

I'm using the latest stable GZDOOM currently v4.4.2, on Windows 10 with the Strife1.WAD and your mod only. With the same configuration the vanilla game's water sounds don't have the issue.

Really wanna keep playing but, it really is very loud. Sorry if I left out any relevant info and thank you for modding this classic!

Thanks for providing the specifications. I didn't changed anything loud-related. Some new sounds were added, but their volume is fine for me. Maybe it depends on your hardware/settings?

Appreciate the response, especially knowing how long youd been gone when I made the comment.

Like I said, the default game doesn't have this issue :( same directory of gzdoom, same settings, simply without your mod running. There's a single video on youtube showing off your mod and he has the same problem, just load up the vanilla game and the immediately you'll notice the water isn't supposed to be this loud. If possible, could you point me to the location of the torch and/or water sounds for me to edit them myself? I'm using SLADE to try and finagle this but I'm not experienced doing this.

Yeah, sure. If new bugs are found, or I regain interest in the game and see the room for improvement, I will.

How do I play the mod? I tried following your instructions in the readme but I don't seem to be doing it right.

Drop pk3 and bat files to GZDoom folder with Strife1.wad in it. Then use the bat file to launch the game.

Just finished Veteran Edition on Veteran for the first time, and now I'm glad I started on Rookie for this mod. Definitely completes the few things that were missing from what was already a surprisingly great game!

It's been a while since I fumbled around with GZDoom, but is there another option besides binding reload to manually reload weapons? (Or is that feature not enabled in this mod?)

Weapon reload is automatic, but can be enforced with altfire if weapon has the clip.
