(NEW) Strider Mountain Version 3

AT 30,000 FEET... you are almost 6 miles (9.7 km's) above sea level. The human body is not made for these conditions. Temperatures can plummet to -60F (-51C), the brain is starved for oxygen and each step is a new experience in pure agony. It's difficult to breathe. It's difficult to think. It's difficult to move. And you still have to endure another 444 feet (0.14 km's) to get to the peak. So much for the good news.
STORYLINE: SURVIVE the SUMMIT ...The rebels are losing the battle against the strider onslaught that keeps growing. To help turn the tide of war you need to destroy the source of the Striders. That source is at the summit of what the rebels call, StriderMountain. There is only one way to get into the mountain geography and it's extremely dangerous terrain. The danger proves to be too much and you are forced way off target. Now, you must fight your way through the Combine Mountain Base Camp because it's the only entry to the mountain. As Gordon Freeman, you must survive the summit and destroy the source of the Striders.

I just finished up the entire mod tonight. I should be in bed, but I couldn't go until I finally wrapped it up. I guess it's a little late, but I see a new version was released a couple of days ago. I'm looking forward to the change log to see what was fixed.
Overall, I'm very impressed with all the effort your team put into it. One small critique is of the voice acting. I would have liked to see your team branch outside the coders/modelers and petition for decent voice acting skills. But that's very small in the scope of things.
I DID run across what I think was another big bug, but I'm not sure. On the bonus level, when I got to the top of the castle and busted open the weapons cash with the rockets, I fully expected a gunship to appear. In fact, your walkthrough mentions a gunship appearing. There are crates with ammo and health. But guess what? No gunship. Somehow it never arrived. I was very confused, but I guess I lucked out? I found the water tank and jumped down, continuing the level without issue.
Awesome work, guys! I got a ton of enjoyment out of this mod.
At first glance I found it to be a slow, awkward mod with little thought put into what is actually appealing to a player. Just my opinion, I may play tomorrow when I'm feeling less tired but as of yet I found it was annoying me frequently and didn't seem to have much of a storyline.
I must however admire the sheer scale of the mod, with so many levels you can only complain about the little things so much.
I'm really surprised that this rates only a 7.1. While I'm only at Garrison, I've gotten a lot of mileage out of the mod already. And to think that I have ten or eleven more maps to go. It's been a good challenge so far, though I fear that if other people's comments are correct, I may get hung up on the difficulty in later levels. Still, I'm looking forward to moving the rest of the way through.
Very few bugs really. There were two I've ran across. One strange bug disabled my weapons HUD after a death and restart from a load point. It fixed itself after a cutscene though. The other bug involved parking the buggy at the rebel encampment. (It's the part where Gordon, in a cutscene, does something to the back of the vehicle to cause it to rev up and ram the gate open.) I found that if I parked the buggy as far forward as it would go, the cutscene would hang and not finish. I had to go back to a save point and then next time park it well away from the barricade.
Glad you're liking SM. Enjoy the rest of the journey.
Really great mod. Enjoyed the whole gameplay. It's a tough challenge, but its addictive, nice mapping. 10/10 great work.
The mod was big , good , nice , had idees , EPIX , 1000/10
Strider Mountain was great. Lot's of variety in the environments. A ton of fun gameplay. Thanks guys.
at first the mapping was great! but on the other hand there was hardly any combat so it was boring.and the middle levels had terrible mapping and a good amount of combat, so it was fun. the last few levels were horrable the mapping was bad, confusing puzzles, and so much fighting i left god-mode on through the entire thing. the extra level was horrid. lasly i hated how destroying the strider machine wasnt the end or finnaly. it was almost halfway through and how in the world would that end the war? hte combine had already taken control. but besides the storyline some of the combat and levels, it was an ok mod i give it a 6 out of ten. :( dissapointing
umm... nerd-psycho-rage that doesnt make any sense?
wth are u talking about..?
