Report RSS Development of SturmMod v1.1 is back on track!

No need to be scared though it is Halloween: The SturmMOD v1.1 has not died and definately will not return as a zombie mod, though development has slowed down lately.

Various reasons contributed to the change of the release date from "IN October" to "Christmas is coming nearer and nearer, isn't it?": Our performances in Gießen were a great experience but we needed every minute we got to build up our installation and therefore had no time to develop the mod further. To make things worse the OS of my PC was damaged during the transport and refused to boot, therefore we had to install again everything we needed to make the PC able to play Far Cry in the performance. Two weeks ago university started again and consumed my time with interesting courses like "The aesthetics of computer games"...

In the meantime the development of the SturmMOD v1.1 mostly took place in my head. I thought about ways to tell more about the background story of the play and to better connect the mod with our performance as many gamers were confused about the lack of information in the first version of the mod. It is important to note that the mod stays an experiment on how the medium computer game is able to tell the story of a theatre play and its characters enabling the visitor to have new and changing perspectives on the scenario. I am thankful for every advice from players on how to further enhance the potential of the mod!

At the moment I am trying to transfer all of my ideas from the virtuality of my thoughts into the virtuality of the game - and of course some things don't work out as planned. Nonetheless I am confident to get the v.1.1 ready in November - the month in which other big news concerning the mod will be revealed as well!! ^^ So stay tuned and spread the word!
