Nov 19, 2009 Full Version 0 commentsThis guide will give you a comeplete rundown of the levels, game modes, vehicles, weapons and much more found in Steam Racers 3.0.
In Steam Racers - a mod for Unreal Tournament 3 - you get to experience the joyful madness of steam punk in a completely new way. With four unique steam-powered vehicles, players must either race or fight their way to victory or choose any route in between. Gun down your opponents with the tank-like Scotch Boiler, navigate easily with the floating Futuramobile 1900 or outrace the competition with the most unique invention of them all, the Monowheel. Buy upgrades to improve your weapons, armor and speed, lure enemies into deadly traps, disrupt progress with the magnetic and flame mines or take control of the powerful stationary turrets for ultimate damage.

Maps of Snowreal (it's another mod/gametype) appear in my Steam Racers maplist, and I can actually run them and they work O_o
I guess it's because we use the same abbreviation, SR :)
I think what Rhax is talking about is a Lego type racer, where perhaps you could build your own vehicle from a parts bin, and achieve new parts as you progress.
Well, I know we've talked about physical changes to the vehicle meshes as they get upgraded (right now it's only a change in material), so that is definitly possible down the road.
The ability to customize your own vehicle might pose a problem though, as we want all vehicles to start out basic and very even and then get upgraded during the game. So this would mean we would somehow have to provide an interface during gameplay, where the player can customize the vehicle, while not taking too much time, so they get slaughtered during their customizing :D
This is really pretty damn good, not my perfect racer, but damn near it. If you found a way to let us build our own cars then it would be even closer though.
rahx --> Customization in what way?
We are going to do a plan for future expansions soon, so it would be nice with some input and good ideas :)
is there servers up with people ?
Gonna test this out, good luck with the contest!
the steamboy-ish one wheel is my favorite so far, very cool
is there ever gonna be customization of the vehicle? otherwise this looks sweet good luck
