After watching the in game battles, one thing I realized is that I either need turrets or some kind of visible weapons port/emplacement on my models. The weapon shots coming out of plain ship hull ain't going to cut it. I cut out the turrets originally because they were a pain to implement. And they still are. I've spent the last couple of days adding turrets to the Rodger Young Hero, and trying to get them to act right. Unfortunately I'm getting tired of working on them. I've decided to keep the turrets as destroyable gun emplacement hard points, without the actual rotation. That solves my main issue, I believe. I am also adding destroyable missile port hard points. I'll be adding this feature to all the ships, both federal & arachnid. Of course the arachnids weapon port might end up looking like a sphincter. lol.
I'm also working on particle effects, both for the weapons and also for the arachnid deaths. I'm hoping for a bug guts kind of effect.
Still a lot of work to go just to finish the space side. It will be our 1st release, then we can focus entirely on the ground side.
We're always looking for experienced skinners, modelers and or riggers to help out. So just give me a shout if interested.

Can you not have destroyable hardpoints? With destroyable hardpoints the game becomes less tactical and more of who can ninja the most shield generators. Not to mention it makes semi-intact ships worthless as anything but cannon fodder since they have a quarter of the guns and a quarter of the max HP. Bad for skirmish.
Perhaps just some way to repair & refit even?
