Are you ready to step through the Stargate? We are happy to share more information about the Stargate Space Conflict Demo that will be available for players between November 28 and December 12. The Stargate Space Conflict Demo is a preview that will give you a small taste of the Stargate battle fantasies you can expect to live out when the final version of the mod launches next year.

Our team decided to reply to some of your questions about the demo, while revealing more information at the same time about what’s coming in.

Remastered BC-304 in-gameFeatures

A lot of you were asking questions about the accessibility of this demo. You will be pleased to hear that it’s going to be public and available to all of you on November 28. The demo will be playable for two weeks and will allow you to discover our content, before the release of the final version. This demo will be a Steam exclusive.

A short questionnaire will be available on our site for each player to let you share your feedback and your impressions about our demo.

Since it’s a demo, the content may evolve in the final version, which is still being developed at the moment. It will depend, of course, on your comments, including the upcoming updates of Homeworld by Gearbox Software Ltd.

Playable content

The Demo will let you experience the following modes:

  • Interactive campaign: Composed of 3 missions, the later will last for more than a hour. They’re all different to show you the potential of the campaign of Stargate Space Conflict that will be available in the final version. Each mission represents a series characteristic of Stargate. The missions will feature cutscenes with certain key moments of the show.

  • Co-operation with your friends via Steam: Play with your friends in staged and immersive battles against the artificial intelligence. You will be able to choose your difficulty level beforehand. You will be able to choose the path you want to take, defend Earth, or even attack Abydos, It’s all up to you.

  • Online Instant action via Steam: Defy your friends or the artificial intelligence in online games. Same rules and same methods as the online co-operation.

That being said, please note that the demo won’t feature the "Offline Skirmish" mode. The multiplayer support will be entirely assured by Gearbox’s Shift™ servers.

Earth

You will be able to play with a brand new and remastered visual experience, faithful to the Stargate franchise with high realistic planets, high detailed ships and more… Get ready to step through the Stargate on November 28.

A few things:
(Q is a question, S is a suggestion)

Q: when is the full version expected?
S: have 2 sliders on new game where you can give all players percent bonuses to armor and shields or weapons, that way if someone wants quick battles they can, or if people want a long *** war (like me) they can have it
S: in season 2 of Atlantis the Deadalus was able to take fire from 7 hive ships for a few minutes and still survive, I hope that the strength of shields will be better shown (especially ancient shields as Atlantis is capable of taking fire for a long *** time and so is a BC of the ancients) shields in the original were very meh

I just hope the combat will actually be close to the show rather then absurd need to balance everyone to a T

Even though it can get extreamly unbalanced in multiplayer, I'd love if thay made it like that aswell especially with the option to change it.

Indeed, I just love it when someone makes a good mod and actually follows the lore behind the show they are basing it off of (there was a space empires V mod of SGA that followed it almost to a T, it was so fun having this huge 4x war between the wraith and ancients) then there are mods like warlords (who thought making a CIS Battlecruiser as strong as a Venator was lore accurate?) I just hope it's in term of strength (from weakest to strongest): wraith, Goa'uld, tau'ri/Asgard (the tau'ri get their tech and stuff along with a few ancient tech as well so they should be very strong) and then of course the ancients (who should be able to cause fear to anyone playing against them) a good way to balance that would be speed and cost of ships from slowest and most expensive to cheapest and fastest: tau'ri (they don't have worlds of shipyards and only a few nations give the resources and manpower to build and man these things, they should be a hard faction to fight as), ancients (they have the ability to build ships on multiple worlds, this should be shown off), Asgard (same as ancients), Goa'uld/wraith (not much is known about the construct of either empires fleets but, it's safe to safe both have many shipyards and are able to regenerate their fleet quickly and effectively if need be (maybe the wraith a bit better at it then the Goa'uld))

I just hope a Asgard beam will actually cut through a wraith or Goa'uld ship like a hot knife through butter and a ancient ship should spell DOOM for a whole fleet of wraith ships (after all it took a whole armada of wraith to kill a few of the ancients BS class ships, these things were monsters)

Because in Stargate the weapons color affect the shield's color directly. As an example, Ha'tak class vessels in Stargate SG1 have blue shields when Asgard weapons hit them whereas they have orange shields with Goa'uld weapons. I suggest you watching the last episode of Season 9 with all the ships fighting the Ori. Their shields depend of the weapon color.

The unique ships in Stargate that don't follow this rule are Atlantis and almost all ancient ships.

Also as an answear to you telling people to watch season 9, what you are refearing to is the energy of the weapon being spread out when it hits the shield, the color of the shield stayes the same witch you can se at some cases.

it was explaned in stargate universe how shields work .they said shield works like a rock paper scisor game as it tries to match the frecuency of the weapon fire more closer the estimate frecuency less the damage it other way it can also effect colour

It is true that the shields changed frecuency depending on what weapon is hitting it yet it does not affect the color.
The color changes depending on the shield type or the energy source used.

Goa'uld ships have a yellowish color probably because of the naquadah they use as a power source which was the same case with the Prometheus aswell since they also used naquadah as a power source and the same shield type as the Goa'uld witch resulted in bouth having the yellowish shields, the asgard has blue shields yet I do not know what power source they have and the tauri got blue once when they got asgard shields installed.

The ancients use the ZPM to power their ships and shields witch resulted in an orange shield with the exception of Atlantis and Destiny, Atlantis used an other type of shield which if I remember correctly they called a bubble shield or something, but Atlantis shields dosn't change frecuency as far as I remember.
Destinys shields are powered by red sun energy witch resulted in the redish shield color.

The ori had a silverish color yet I do not know what power source they used and there are other shield colors aswell that I do not remember and I don't know what power sourced they used, but the weapon hitting the shield never affected the color of the shield it was all based on the shield type or the power source.

i gess u are right and the power source for asgard ship is asgard core as in the last epesode of sg1 thor said asgard core povide itself with its own power and also channel it into the ship (oddesy)if u see in wiki and open odessy u can see that asgard core is mentioned in power sourse
