Hello Everyone,

it has been a long time without any dev response, indeed. I am really sorry about that but there has been a lot going on in personal lives of the team and so there is almost no time to work on this mod. And frankly, a lot of community enthusiasm for modding has been lost thanks to two unsuccessful attempts of HD Interactive to create Nexus 2 and also NBC Universal banning incredible BattleStar Galactica modification.

Let's answer the most important question that you possibly have about SG: War Begins, B5: Conflicts of Loyalty 2 and W40k: Battlefleet Nexus. Are these modifications dead? The answer is NO! However, there will be no massive releases or regular updates as there is not enough free time for such things.

What is it that you should look forward to during 2014 then? SG: War Begins is going to get small update fixing few thing there and there, bringing back energy weapons and improving drone mechanics (a little) for Ancient Battleship, visually altering some parts of GUI, improving some planet visuals and very few other small things. W40k: Battlefleet Nexus might be (finally) getting a small Alpha Version release with handful Imperial and Chaos ships by the end of 2014. B5: Conflicts of Loyalty 2 ... well, let's say that we will see what we can do if there is enough free time for this one too.

Hi, I am kinda new and don't know... Is it possible to create custom multiplayer battles, or I only can use a few ships for each race, which are listed in the combat entering screen?

Hi, you can always use Nexus skirmisher (http://arparso.de/nexus/) to create your own mp missions or go to mod/universe/mod_multiplayer and edit any mp mission with your notepad but that might need some experience with modding.

Hmm, I tried to edit one of the mp missions by adding additional ships (ship names I took from NS) and... nothing happened, I saved changes but they didn't appear in game... What I did wrong?

I imagine NS saved your edited mission into it's own directory instead of over-writing the original. Other than that, not too sure at the mo. I'd also recommend posting in the NS forums that Dreamor mentioned above, though.

But... I edited it by myself) I didn't use NS, just Notepad++ =)

You always need to clear Save folder after playing any mp mission or all changes you make to it through notepad have no effect. Nexus is using save folder as some kind of buffer (or something like that) to remember mp mission last settings.

Another small development news:

Six more planets have been re-worked. Those planets are Jupiter, Mercury, Venus, small ice planet and two big barren planets.

Light intensity from local stars has been decreased for some systems. This greatly helps to improve overall mod’s atmosphere.

Minor development news:

- Hit points of every shielded ship have been increased, so they can last few moments when their shields are down. This way Warheads are pretty useful as fast killing means against such unshielded target, remaining fighters have some time to be relocated and players have some room for last tactical decisions.

- We’ve replaced old flare textures (128x128) with new ones (256x256). This means nicer/different local stars, engine effects and some explosion effects.

- Model for a new Tau’ri tactical ship is 50% finished

Some development news:

Next public release is going to feature new tactical ships (Hebridan Cargo Ship for Tau'ri, Osiris' Ship for Goa'uld, Wraith Cargo ship etc.) that are capable of damaging devices through shield, depleting energy reserves of the target, slowing down weapon reload of the target and a couple of more things. These ships won't be able to do any direct hull or shield damage.

Graphical Use Interface (GUI) changes are work in progress now. There will be color change to panels, new ship icons, different font and various small changes.

New effects, also work in progress. We’ve already created new efx for railgun fire, missile trail and damage overlay (yes, ship damage effect will make its return).
