Stargate: Legacy started off as a conversion of the popular StargateTC to the source engine, but now is an independent mod using the latest Source engine technologies. For those who might not know, SGL, just like SGTC, is based on the popular TV show Stargate SG-1 as well as Stargate Atlantis.

There are currently two versions of Stargate Legacy, both of which are multiplayer only. Single player will not be started until we are satisfied we have reached a multiplayer release that requires minimal attention from the devs, allowing us to focus on other projects.

Beta 1.0.5 (released)
Choose your side and enter the epic battle between Tau'ri and Goa'uld. Fight your way trough the well known locations of the Stargate universe such as the SGC and Goa'uld motherships, as well as various alien worlds.
Tau'ri- Battle as a member of the legendary team 'SG-1' - Colonel Jack O'Neill, Major Samantha Carter, Teal'c, Doctor Daniel Jackson or a USMC soldier. Use the wide range of weapons from MP5 and FN P-90 to shock grenades and powerful C4 to stop the Goa'uld and end their tyranny!
Goa'uld- Choose to join the battle as a System lord, Anubis guard, Horus guard, Serpent guard or a loyal Jaffa. Use the powerful weapons from Staff weapon and T.E.R. to Zat'nik'a'tel and Tak to eliminate the Tau'ri and fulfill the will of your god!

Beta 2 (unreleased)
The latest version of Stargate: Legacy, involves a complete overhaul of graphics, and some major gameplay changes, and uses new technologies unavailable to us for the previous version. Along with some completely reworked versions of old and much loved Beta 1 maps such as Conquest and Temple, there will be new locations never seen before, such as the X-303 'Prometheus'. New weapons, including the previously unseen M16, will be available to you, along with a range of all new items. So prepare, to go and kick some snakehead arse, like you've never kicked it before!

We are in need of texture artists, modellers, and animators. If you happen to be one of these and you are interested in joining our development team, please apply on out forums. We are also looking for someone to help us with our Linux compiling.

Regards,
STARGATE LEGACY DEV TEAM

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen and welcome to the November 09 News! Yay.

So it's that time of year again. The clocks have gone back, it's getting darker earlier, it's colder, it's just been Halloween and the kids are running around all hyper on sugar. But the good thing is that less than 2 months till Christmas! Don't worry though, we're not gonna start the Christmas music yet, otherwise we all might drive ourselves to suicide.

Firstly I'd like to give a warm welcome to our new modeller TheMightySpud who is working on some great models. One which will be showcased later in the post. It's amazing!

Media showcasing

This month our media is courtesy of TheMightySpud and also Furling

Furling has been working on a new reincarnation of the classic Temple map.

Looks lovely doesn't it?

Moving onto what TheMightySpud has been working on in less than 3 weeks, he has created a few props and nice models. One which is truly special.

And for the model that you will absolutely love:

That's right, TheMightySpud is creating us a new stargate!

Achievement Contest

Finally we have a competition update which we talked about in last month's news.
As we said the competition was supposed to be held in 2 stages, however, due to lack of entries in Achievement contest and no entries in Achievement Icon contest we decided to end the this after stage one. This means that we already have a winner!

And that honour as well as a free copy of Half-Life2 and a guaranteed position in our upcoming SGL: Beta2 internal beta test stage goes to:

Alexander Straczek

Congratulations Alex! To everyone else who entered- thank you and good luck next time :)

As for those who didn't even bother sending your applications, I'd just liked to point out that the Beta2 internal testing stage will not have as many positions as our Beta1, meaning that with each guaranteed position chance of getting into the test team grows smaller and smaller.
So blame yourself if you don't get in ;)

Well that's all for this month. Hope you have a good November.

I'm confused, why is there gonna be a (i think its called) LAW, that disposable missile launcher, that thing was used by US troops in Vietnam (1980s) and when does stargate take place (probibly much after that, I dunno). Just a though....

Vietnam is 70's ;)
And yes, Stargate does take place in modern day. But the LAW is still used, though much replaced by the AT4 and Javelin. But both of those are anti-tank missile launchers, we wanted something that could be used against Goa'uld and bunkers etc. And it's a bit of fun :)
