Overview of the future plans for Stargate Invasion.

Hello everyone,

it has been a long time since our last big news and update and we are really sorry for this. But nevertheless here I am talking to you and i want to tell you what we are currently planning on the development on the mod.

At first I'd like to say that I have finally finished the integration of the Infinite Spaces mod. New Planets to discover among the universe, including ocean, barren, forest and other new planet types. :) The vanilla planets have been also updated with the IS textures.
Next up on the to-do-list, adding titans to the different factions (Cool ideas for abilities are always appreciated :) ). We will stick to our idea of two titans per race (link for those who haven't read the news post).

Along with this will come a redesign/rethinking of the tech trees. I am rather unconcerned if we will use the vanilla titan access or add it as one of the last tires (with many requirements, like weapon research) in the tech tree.

Furthermore, as most of you should have noticed, Stardock released Rebellion 1.5 and thus we have to update the mod. I have not yet tested whether the current version is still compatible, but for those who have not updated their game yet, I recommend not to update to ensure that the mod is still working. You might ask yourself: New version of Rebellion = new version of SGI? I can tell you, yes this will be the case, but I can't tell you when this is going to happen. That's where you need to decide: Would you rather want a new release without the titans and changed tech trees updated to 1.5 or a more worked out release with titans and tech trees, which could use some time to design and finish?

At last I would like to repeat something I have already written in the comments on balancing:
It is a very important aspect of every game and thus I am very thankful for everything you can tell me and the team on it. But the comment section is a rather bad place to track everything. So it would be very cool if you could note down what you think is good and bad and send it either to d_jackson@live.de or post it on the beyond the invasion forums. (I know they are pretty much dead right now, but it's still the best way to discuss and track these things.)

Thanks for the update .. much appreciated .. if you cant do the super weapon on the anubis mother-ship u cud always give it like a barrage attack like foe 10- 15 secs just a thought :) keep up the good work!! and id say wait until u have all the tech and titans in the game before next release

I'd rather have a quick update just for 1.5 compatibility so those of us who were updated to 1.5 can play SGI while you're still working on the tech trees.

Personally i'd rather have an update now with maybe some of the textures worked out a little more. but if it comes down to it, I do not mind to wait.

at the original release the download link wouldn't work for me, last night just for the heck of it i tried again, it worked and i downloaded it and installed it, to make sure sins wouldn't update to 1.5 I disabled automatic updating for sins in the steam menu, of course steam didn't give a **** about what i wanted and downloaded it anyway so at this point I would just like to see what you have now made compatible with l.5

as a user of the steam version of sins rebellion i plead you to release a compatible release.. i no longer wish to play the outdated versions for entrenchment or vanilla...
PLEASE release a version of the mod that runs with the current steam version!

id like to say, that I placed the 1.1 sgi in the rebellion mod folder 1.5 and it did a minidump the first time I tried to apply it but second time after exiting and starting the game again it loaded great. so for now thw 1.52 players can still play stargate invasion! I have the new forbidden worlds expansion so im gonna start a game and see what happens with that installed.

ok so as best as I can tell, attempting the mod with forbidden worlds added causes a minidump every time it brings up the loading screen. if I can figure out how to uninstall f-worlds ill try the mod again and post what it does.

Mod looks good but my Sins auto updated, I read the most of the comments and it happened to alot of people I think it owuld be great if you released the mod up the where ever it is with it updated to 1.5 so we can all have a good time. (I changed my sins so it wont auto update anymore) Good work with the mod.
