Nekronus has done it again! he has lowered the saturation level on the red, added in some dark purple and browns. I dont know about all of you, but I feel that it could be perfect now.

I looked up countless Super Hive pictures over the internet and then i watched the episodes again just to be sure. I didn't see red color anywhere.
So why do you keep doing it, there is no red color ???
Because it looks much more deadly with red than if it's just blue.

I like it, could do with a bit more refining to get the colour right but as you said it is a WIP
I like that you added the red/brown bits to it, I always thought that they were the hive being forced to grow with the increased power from the ZPM and it was part of the carapace/hull that was still hardening. like a lot of insects before their carapace hardens they often look a weird colour to their adult form, and when parts have hardened and some parts are soft they often have a mottled colour.

Personally, I like the red but just not that much maybe tone it down a little bit

Yes I may have gone a but much on the red veins which are there in the show, I exaggerated the scale of the veins because it's strategy. And the reason they're so red is that I was toying with the idea of making the veins the team colour.
Anyway for anyone wondering why I did red:

It's looking epic, and I agree that the team colour veins would be a great thing to do.
Is there any way you could make it a bit less shiny/sparkly, as the hive's always seem pretty dull in the series?!
Also maybe reduce the amount of veins a little, especially if going for the team colours, as it would look really different with say a green vein as it stands.
