Here is a picture of the Jumper Fighter and Bomber (Bomber has both drone doors open) and their new texture. Look back several pages of pictures to see the original texture. This looks much more accurate.
yeah, i don't see the point either, couldn't you just make the puddle jumpers medium at both and make just 1 type avaliable. Then improve on specific areas later on in the research.

The reason that we are having the two versions of the Jumper is so that Frigates can have more then 1 squadron of fighters attached to them. Another reason is that While you say there was only 1 variant of the Jumper, I remember seeing (and I saw it this past weekend) in season 1, the Jumpers only opened 1 Drone Door, and then in Season 5 a Jumper opened both to destroy a Hive. A single jumper with one Drone Door open might not have the possibility to do enough damage to an Enemy ship, hence the 2 versions. besides, the other 2 races are going to be equipped with fighters and bombers, so it is only fair to add in a bomber for the Asurans.
I can already see the comments, then build something else, well I could do that, but I personally like the differences between these two ships, not to mention, the bombers will have something extra, that the fighter version will not have.
Not that I disaprove of either the variants or the reasoning you have behind them, it's unlikely the team would know the diferance between the two jumps, nore weather one was specificly desighned to take out only fighters (seems unusaly narrow minded for ancients) and they they only needed to use one drone pod to kill a few fighters...

about the Jumpers being both Fighters and Bombers, I have talked it over with my team, and we have decided that it would be best to come up with a fighter, as the Jumper is more like a bomber anyway. You might all be surprised that know what this little fighter will look like, but I will save that till the mesh is complete.
u could arm the new fighter with mini drones so that it isnt very effective at attacking large objects unlike the jumper
mini drones is a good idea... the ones that appeared in that episode of SG-A (can't remember which season) in the forest where they had to escort the little girl (don't know why I've gone into detail, no doubt you knew which one alpha_hammer meant anyway)
I'd recommend the Jumpers above be used as bombers and the Fighter variant being armed with the mini-drones instead of the standard Drones.
