We are pleased to announce our 1st mod which is going to be based on Stargate the game will have 2 teams the Tauri (Earth) and the Lucian Alliance
We are still at the early stages but we do have some screen-shots for you and hopefully in a few days we should have some small video clips showing off some of our work.
We will keep you posted as much as we can but we are a small team so most of our time will be going into making the mod but updates will happen at-least every 2 weeks to a month.
There will be 4 types of game modes in this mod.
1. Basic ground/air combat
2. Space Combat Destroy each others Capital Ships (Bit like BF2142 Titian mode)
3. Space Capital Ships Battles
4. Space Battles Fighter Version
Our Team :-
John Sheppard - Lead Coder - Modeler - Texture Artist - Mapper
Rodney Mckay - Lead GUI Editor - Coder - Mapper - Chief Bug Fixer
Jack O'neill - Lead Static Modeler - Lead Vehicle Modeler - Ground Mapper
We are only a team of 4 and as we progress further with the mod we find our selves being stretched quite thin so we have come to the conclusion that we need to take on a few more people.
We are looking for
Modellers (3ds Max/Maya e.t.c)
and few Mappers
The only requirements we ask of the potential candidates are as follows:
1. You have access to a mic and are able to join us regularly on our development TeamSpeak Server.
2. You will also require the following software:
a. BF2 Editor
b. 3ds Max or Maya
c. Photoshop or equivalent
You’re able to put in a fair few hours of work each week.
If you would like to be considered as a candidate to join our team then please send us an e-mail detailing what field you wish to work in, and what relevent skills you have and why you think we should consider you as a member of the development team.
If possible please supply evidence of any work that you have already done.
Since 2002 we have explored, played and enjoyed mods of all shapes and sizes just like Stargate for BF2. We love games like Battlefield 2 that have opened themselves up to modding. Because of communities like Workshop, Nexus, Curse, RTSL, GameBanana and Mod DB, more games support modding today than ever before.
Let's celebrate modding
As mods play a bigger role in the future of gaming, we believe it is important to recognize the effort the teams behind the work put in, giving us countless hours of enjoyment while asking nothing in return. We have the power to change our games and that needs to be celebrated to ensure it remains a big part of PC gaming's future.
It all started
In 2015, when the paid modding dispute left many gamers and modders worried about the direction the industry is headed. Things have since settled down, but we believe it is important to continue this small tradition to show we are not alone in our love for mods, and the open platforms that embrace them.
Mod Appreciation Week
Nothing is more motivating than knowing something you've built is being enjoyed by others. So this week if there is a mod you love on Mod DB (or anywhere else), make the effort to shout out to them, mention and link their mod in a tweet, blog, forum or facebook post with the hashtag #modlove2016 (or click the icons above for a pre-built post).
