Stargate - Empire at War: Pegasus Chronicles is a total conversion for the fantastic game Star Wars - Empire at War: Forces of corruption. This total conversion will replace every single Star Wars asset of the original game with Stargate assets. This includes units, buildings, icons, sounds, videos and so much more. Pegasus Chronicles offers 3 playable races, the Ta'uri (alliance between Earth and the Asgard), Anubis (a mighty systemlord) and the Wraith. Beside these 3 playable races, you will meet many non-playable ones like the Replicators, the Asurans, the systemlord alliance, the Aschen, the Ori and many more. Each faction will have several space and land units, well known from the series or completely new ones. Contrary to our first full version for the normal Empire at War, the next release will offer finished GC maps, in which you can play through the known Stargate storylines and experience a lot of never seen missions and adventures.

This may spell the end of an era in modding... it is so sad, to think about.

Highly unlikely. Just because a mp game service won't be working doesn't mean the end of modding. Besides which I do know that perhaps 90% of modding includes ai profiling and programming.

It won't end modding but it could see a decrease in the amount of mods of SW:EAW, multiplayer is large part of a mod, though in the end someone will probably start hosting servers for this game. (Supply-Demand)

It probably won't have as great an effect as you think. Virtual Private Networks (Hamachi) are pretty easy to get going and seem to be keeping C&C Generals and probably other serverless games well enough afloat.

Why didn't you guys add me to the Private message you sent to a bunch of FOC modders about the gamespy shutdown?

What am i not a good enough modder to be added to it?

You add people like Z3r0x who hasn't been on here in a year but not me.

Sorry for the rage but that's insulting.

There is a limit of people which can be added to a private message.
I tried to add as much groups as possible so the message can be forwarded in the groups ;)

Ah alright i have a tendency to over react sometimes and i usually sometimes don't think before i post so sorry if sounded rude in my comment.

Anyways if Petroglyph can't come up with something then we may have to resort to using Tunngle for online battles for this game cause tunngle has chat rooms for FOC and we can all met up in there and talk about what mods we are playing and then get games together via it.

I have been using GameSpy for years when playing SWBF II, and to hear of them being shut down is almost unbelievable. What's going to happen to all of the multiplayer gaming that GameSpy handled? If expenses were the only problem, then why were the users of GameSpy not given the opportunity to vote for a payable subscription, or to support it through donations? Surely the cash flow of several million viewers would be enough to take care of expenses!

Considering I'm not really a competitive person, I see nothing wrong with this. Or, is there more to it than I though?

Solution: Tunngle.

I use it for my Homeworld multiplayer matches and it works like a charm, obviously it's a Play-Over-LAN software like Hamachi - Although I would say that it's far superior.
