I'll give this one a 6/10, to be honest so far from what i've played im not every impressed, what bugged me the most was the difficulty, im no noob, i've been playing crysis since launch, and numerous other fps games, but for some reason these Chinese bastards are killing me super easily. I wasn't impressed at all by that. Secondly, the fact that all the dialogue is all text is a big negative to me, It wouldnt be hard at all to get voice actors to play certain parts, it makes the mod about as half as immmersive as it could have been.
Those are my initial impressions and as they say, first impressions are the most important.
Special thanks to Mick & Dark_Wolf for this amazing work. This is in fact the most incredible modification of the game Crysis. The true potential of the Engine is revealed when we see how these two great developers have a very close attention to detail. Finally, we enjoy a spectacular Sci-Fi gameplay caught between action and adventure.
All the best, T.C
I may have over reacted, the beggining sucks but as a True stargate fan I have to respect all your amazing work. Keep on pulishing it : D
Im gonna give you guys some advice that will probably change my rating and everyones:
1. Put a grown up to make the military dialogs
2. Loose the ships from Battlestar Galactica
3. Jaffa are way 2 invincible, you need a full clip of a P90 to take one down.
4. Try to make some metal particle effect when you hit a jaffa, it will look just like in the show.
After beating Crysis from easy to Delta, then beating it from easy to Delta w/cheats ( which make is easy on every level). I stopped playing it for a while, reinstalled it yesterday and went through it all again, then went hunting for mods and found this. At first glance it looked fun, interesting, and add more playability to the game. DL, installed, got it working and boy, no voice's makes it very bland, text was giving me a headache. First mission was a pain on the first try, couldn't kill anyone, so on my second try i read the text while trying to survive and finally did it right. Got to the evac and was getting owned by the Koreans/Chinese as if they have lock on bullets or something. Impossible to see them with the snow storm, so had to rely on hit markers to find them. Not to mention it takes like a clip to kill just one, and thats on normal mode. auto-reload would be nice, more med-packs at the evac site. The NPC needs to aim better. I think this mod has some potential but from what little i read on the official site, the devs don't want to do anything else to it. Kudo's to the 2 devs if they made this just with the both of them, though probably would of been smarter to try to bring on more hands to help. If no more patche's or tweeks, possible voice dialog added, clearer mission objectives,auto-reload or atleast the option to turn it on, some type of armor, bulletproof vest or something. Enemies on normal mode shouldn't have 99% perfect aim & hit.
I would recommend to bring on some more modders and do another patch or something to make it more enjoyable.
Put more heart into it, 4 years in the making and from the reviews i read, forums, and gameplay, it is lacking alot of heart.
Best of luck.
I was really looking forward to this mod, I think it has massive potential.
After downloading and installing I was fairly disappointed, I seriously struggled to get through the first few firefights I had in the game. I was plagued by graphical and gameplay glitches and there was little to no instruction on how to play the game.
I was planning to spend weeks playing this mod right through maybe even more than once. In reality I rage quit within the first hour. I couldn't get past a part where you have to protect a scientist in a snow storm from an army with 10 bullets and a sidekick who cant aim. I even dialed it down to the easiest setting.
From the gameplay videos and the descriptions I'm sure there is the potential for a great game in there, I just can't seem to get past the first mission so I can play it.
If they make it a little easier for us noobs (I've been playing shooters on and off since wolfenstein ) I might revisit, I might even give you a decent score.
For now I will base my score on the amount of hours of enjoyment I got out of the mod ( 0.01 round up to the nearest whole number = 1)
After spending the first hour stumbling around the SGC talking to EVERY SINGLE NPC looking for the one that updates my current fetch quest I was annoyed, after he sent me on ANOTHER fetch quest (this time interrupted by driving cut-scenes and even more terrible dialog), I was peeved. After finally going through the gate on my first mission to Abydos and being sent on ANOTHER BLOODY FETCH QUEST, I quit playing and uninstalled.
If there is anything that sums this mod up, it is bad game design. Seriously what the hell was the point to most of the stuff I did? One "mission" is going to the bar in town, getting drunk, start talking about top-secret stuff out of the SGC, and then getting subdued by your army buddies. That's the entire mission. WHY DID THAT HAVE TO BE IN THERE?!
Maybe this gets better more than an hour and a half in, I wouldn't know. But by having all that crap in the beginning ensured I will never find out.
