Starcraft has become one of the most played games in the world and as players eagerly await the release of Starcraft 2, ive created these SC 2 Concept Maps, to allow for players to experience Starcraft as they have never done before. Totally converted for Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, each map comes with lots of new player features, including new units and Abilities taken from the Starcraft's Ghost Game.

The original version of the 'Boot Camp' campaign map was release back in 2007 and was my first attempt at making a campaign map of Starcraft. The end result was a nicely converted map which followed the original demo map perfectly but after the map was released i knew i could do alot better and would be able to convert alot more of the map to look just like the original Starcraft maps.

So for the next 2 years i spent hours upon hours making skins for all kinds of borders, backgrounds and icons, you name it i converted it. Its amazing how many little things need to be converted in Warcraft III to make a Starcraft menu screen or score screen. But i wanted this new version to be perfect with little or no need for another update again. Along with all the skin creations the models got a once over as well. This resulted in better death animation and sound for the buildings and units within the map. Due to the new patches for Warcraft III: TFT i had to remove all the custom script coding and remove the Terran Liftoff ability which used some of that coding. But most of the original trigger systems are still there and working perfectly.

The map now stands at an amazing 12.40 megabytes in size, which is double the previous version 1.0 at 6 megabytes . This shows just how much more material i added to achieve a perfect Starcraft lookalike map.

Yes im still here darth. Im sorry i havent posted any new updates yet, progress is slow but i can confirm im working on the next mission now. Im having alot of trouble making ashpalt terrain but i should overcome this soon. Ill post up new updates when ive made some decent progress.

I understand you dude but i have a suggestion to you, maybe creating smaller maps and not too much detail of it (like mountains, etc.) would save space for putting in the AI scripts. Would it be possible?

its not the map terrain that causes space issues its all the models and skins that cause the map size to increase, and once ive reached the 4mb limit thats it i cant increase it anymore or the maps wont be playable online. Currently ive optimised all the model fizes to compress as much data as possible, ive also optimised the entire map to compress even more data but thats about all i can do. unless a new program comes out that can compress it further like alot further theres noway i can add ai without taking out half the models and skins to make room for a large 20 min long ai script. its just not doable im sorry. Just wait for the campaign maps to come out and you'll get to play against comps then.

Well if you wait their will be ai in the new campaign missions im developing now. The multiplayer maps cant support ai scripts because of the simple fact i dont have any extra space to add it in. You see adding a ai script is the same as adding in a new model or skin to the map and right now i have absolutely no space left at all. But the campaign maps are totally different. As i dont need to worry about map size restricitions anymore with these maps i can add as many sc sounds/models/skins/triggers and AI scripts as i want. Currently the boot camp map has reached 10 mb alone and the rest will be going alot higher due to more content needed for the maps.

The AI script disliking from fans is understandable and i am attempting to please fans by making these campaign maps for everyone and hopefully please as many fans as possible.

I dont know, i still think everything ive altered will be in english but you can try. Thats the beauty about my project, the maps are just custom made maps and should work on all version of wc3.
