Star Wars mod for Homeworld 2 (soon for Homeworld Remastered)

now includes clone wars ships

still in beta stages

Think total annihilation and you'll know where the inspiration for the scope came from.

Over 100 Star Wars ships taken from the entirety of official SW material (will not include fan created ships except in specific circumstances where gameplay requires a role to be filled) Most of the information is based off of star wars technical commentaries and many of the new ships are an attempt to catelogue the ships in dark empire

Has settings for various SW eras and unit selection. Also has various unique multiplayer modes in development.

A single player campaign is eventually planned, but it will be more along the lines of a historical battles format.

currently the mod is playable with almost 80 unique ships, however the whole mod is in a constant state of improvment as new techniques for HW2 editing are discovered or developed.

make sure you have the homeworld 1.1 patch!

make sure no other mods are installed!

start a new profile with each version!

The good news is almost all of the ships work in Homeworld Remastered. The bad news is there a lot of random bugs introduced by the new engine. The initial release when ready will be a bug hunting version. It is actually playable now, but many of the scripts are disabled. No release date yet, but soon

This is a very well done mod, particularly in respects to the amount of detail that has been paid attention to on everything, especially the ship models. HOWEVER, there are a couple issues that need to be looked at. Trails should be added in again, except really short, SW style (so as to give the impression of motion, and not just glowing blobs behind the engines). Also, the gameplay and lasers need to be slowed down a bit, as the SW lasers/turbolasers didn't move that fast.

All in all a great mod... I sure hope it's still being developed.

One thing to easily make this more realistic: Make small white/orange particles that pass the ships when they are moving. Add sway to Fighters and Corvettes to simulate more realistic formations. :) LOVE THIS MOD :)

The game is great! I get little to no lag within the game (though there are some graphical delays with ship deaths/explosions when a big battle takes place).
However, some suggestions would be:
-Work on the Quick battle NPC AI. They do nothing to build up a fleet and attack, they just sit there with the NAV bouy.
-Another thing is, increase the ship storage on the capital ships. Two ships doesnt exactly seem logical considering the MonCal ships could hold dozens of rebellion craft in Star wars lore.
-The ships are a tad too expensive, but thats alright so long as you have the starting resource ammount jacked up and are playing on a settings friendly map.

Otherwise, good work and keep it up! cant wait for the next Version.

An amazing mod! The models, textures, animations etc. are absolutely beautiful, with dozens of maps to choose from (for both Empire and Clone Wars), and at least about 25 units per faction (a lot more than in the vanilla game). Fun battles with lots of RUs mean big battles too. If you have Homeworld 2, and you have hard drive space, get this mod.
