Star Wars Warlords of Gemini v.0.12 Alpha Star Wars themed mod where i will put the models i make in, most design will be from Fractalsponge. The Aim for later is to maybe make a full conversion out of this.
Finished the Vigil corvette. It will be a corvette sized ship in the mod, acting as heavy corvette with stronger hull and shields.
For the next update there will come 3 new ships, Vigil, Velox and i decided to do the Tector SD, editing the ISD I a bit for it.
Polygoncount without weapons is 24.434 and with weapons it is 34.546
Render textures are 2k same as it will be in the game.

HNNNNNNNG this genuinly approaches fractal levels of awesome, and its actually hard(er) to do it in low game poly. I wonder how these would look with wear and tear, rust or battle damage.
Thank you ^^, Scratches and dent holes are present you would just need to get a closer look or watch the ship in SP direct to see it more clearly.
It's a nice model, but I still feel like you can get way more out substance. The hand painted normals look correct to the overall ships size plus you have nice mixture of details going on, but just like with G, the texture just seems very plain. I have feeling that the actual albedo is consisting of just two colours. The ship looks way too clean. Not even freshly constructed ships wouldn't be this clean.
It's still difficult to get a nice colour variance on large objects, but you can definitely experiment with the particle painter. I know it's tempting to use stuff like smart mask and all that automatic ****, but you still need to the vast majority of your work manually, cause the procedural workflow becomes repetitive and easily spotable and just - wrong.
Its a great correct base though, but it does need some spice.
Thank you :) always bugged me that is something missing but i couldnĀ“t find what it is, yes you are correct about SP, still need to learn more about it and try different things.
There are 4 different colors Dirt, base hull, darker grey and black, scratches and dent holes are present too, i started to use less scratches and the dent holes are more visible in SP directly.
I will try the particle painter on the next ship, everything i know about 3d modelling is self taught and SP i could start with the help from Doci.
I think they look beautiful!
