Star Wars Total war is the most Creative use in a mod I have known for the rome total war engine. it departs from the mainstay of RTW vannila's melee battles in a mesh of units that dont move to ranged units that have to constantly jostle and reposition to effciently attack the enemy. each faction has a unique play style instead of greeks have phalenxes and romans have legions. to win a battle you need to think from when you start about how you deploy your units to where and when to try to rout the enemy from. you want to feel like your playing a differnt game with the rome total war engine download this mod, want a experience just vaguely dissimilar to vanillia RTW go elsewhere. simple as that.

Hi, I'm siskinEDGE head developer of Star wars total war,
Progress so far to the next release has so far been good and a fair amount of new units have been added. I have even managed to tweak the game AI to use the units slightly more effectively and you no longer have to turn off the skirmish button. I have been putting up screenshots of units that have been finished roughly on mod db and soon work shall begin on balencing the stats to be more canonically correct. The target for the next release is to have awesome battles, it's going to be more varied and fun than the first release by far.

The next release will have the original two factions of the first version expanded in their breadth of units and three more factions in the game:
Romans julii - republic, Empire
Gaul - CIS
Romans Brutii - Republic, Rebelion
Pontus - Hutt cartel
Each faction has a particular play style and the way I've weighted the units no matter what happens when you fight beetween the rebels and the empire there is a bloodbath. as the empire you have to maintain battlefeild dominace while the rebels need to outwit the empire, witch the AI dosen't let you do so easily. The Hutts spread Fear on the battlefeild with flanking and rear envelopments and other dirty tactics. The rupublic also takes on some agresive troops with their new blaze troopers that can turn the tide of a battle from deadlock to a dynamic battleline.

I am honestly sick and Tired of static battlelines in rome total war with little movement and tatics relating to that. This is why I am doing my best to make battles in Star wars total war not just some kind of repeat of this historically correct but boring farce but something where you you can enjoy pushing the enemy back or make proper traps and have battles that feel satisfying and different each time.

Historical Battles should be included in the next release with units that will only be available in these historical battles like the Geonosian guards and Trandosian mercenarys. Once I am happy that the bulk of the units for the rebelion and the Hutts have been made I will make a video of how the rebelion differs from the Hutts to wet your apitites. although the rebelion is already very fun to play as. unit guides for the rebelion will be made as soon as I discover how they are best deployed.
