As of 8/30/2014 Version 3 of the public Beta has been released (see link in summary section), go try it now! The objective of this project is to utilize warfull’s Open Star Wars Mod to recreate the experience from the Original Star Wars Trilogy. Our team has analyzed all the original space battles and, to the best of our abilities, we have attempted to capture the same style and overall atmosphere from the movies. So what does that mean, and how does it differ from conventional FS2O ships? For one all these ships have relatively high velocities, a focus on primary weapons, and are very maneuverable. Additionally, just as in the movies, encounters are deadly and only survived by those with experience, teamwork, and some skillful use of the force...

No way...

That was pretty fricken awesome!

Throw on some polish, maybe do something about that DS2 sprite.

The battle itself kinda bugs me, though...

Yes, I know that having some defenders at the DS2 makes more sense than none at all, but the film (And the book, I think, memory's kinda fuzzy on that.) showed no initial engagement like this (cover-story was that the fleet was sent elsewhere to intercept the rebels, when they were really poised behind the moon to ambush the attack.), so I find myself a bit conflicted.

I apologize, my statement about the DS2 sprite was rather vague.

What I mean is that it seems excessively bright, you *know* it's a sprite layered on top and not a part of the original background, or a large object in the distance. Is it a placeholder or something?

PS: Props on the cockpit, top-shelf! Looks a wee-bit misaligned, though, might just be me...

I see what you mean, and for now it is a placeholder. And I will certainly check on the cockpit alignment, good eye.

I agree, there needs to be some large geoemetric revisions to the battleset. For example, the Imperial Fleet is not between the Rebels and DS, but rather behind the Rebel Fleet. More then anything this is a place holder :)

Description

One of our team members testing a Battle of Endor mission. It is very much a work in progress, though. Thanks MetalDestroyer77!
