Holdout Desperation image - Star Wars Rise of Hope mod for Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption
Star Wars Rise of Hope is a mod that will be based on the early Empire and its fall against the Rebel Alliance and its following sucessor the New Republic.
The Superfreighter was used by the Trade Federation (and later the CIS) to transport droids, tanks, and other goods. After the deaths of the Separatist Council on Mustafar and subsequent shutdown of the Droid Army, the Separatist Holdouts would find themselves hurting for ships. It stands to reason they would try to fit every ship at their disposal with weapons to try to fight the incoming Imperial Navy, and without a dedicated anti-fighter ship they wouldn't last long against the swarms of Imperial Fighters. The Superfreighter is here to attempt to counter that swarm. Armed with 8 anti-fighter laser cannons, it will be able to stop most fighter squadrons from harassing the rest of the fleet. However, being a converted freighter, it will fair poorly against any cruiser that was actually designed for battle.
