Welcome to Star Wars Mod: Galactic Warfare, a modification for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

All began with a blaster-model, and soon the idea to extend this theme as a non commercial fan project was born. In the meantime, our project is available as Final Version 1.0 and we have found a lot of new friends in addition to the mod development team . The core team consists of Xfckup, Oldman, Xiao, Rollercoaster, Mapicted, T.R. Graves, Sizzer, Jock Yitch, Vernichter, Cornrow Wallace Gama, Matroskin and ZeroY. And we also got a lot of help from the worldwide CoD Modding Community. It’s amazing that most of those old scruffy looking nerf herders have participated to this project!

It's our goal to unite our favourite game CoD4:MW with the classic universe of Star Wars, as the best trilogy ever. With this total conversion we will combine lot of the known battlegrounds, characters and weapons of Star Wars with the fantastic gameplay of the COD4-Multiplayer. Either as a trooper of the Imperial Forces or as a soldier from the Rebel Alliance you will fight on some different locations.

On the following pages we would like to give you a little insight into our work and its progress. If you like to get more information about us, you are always welcomed at www.blackmonkeys.de

Dear friends of BlackMonkeys.de & Star Wars Mod: Galactic Warfare,

Today we would like to celebrate two things with you! It’s our 4th birthday of blackMonkeys.de, and at the same time we are happy to present our final version of Star Wars Mod: Galactic Warfare. After all the modding, mapping, scripting, gaming, and drinking, it is done! We hope you will enjoy the mod which is a non-profit project operated by fans. Star Wars, its characters, locations, weapons and all associated items are the intellectual property of Lucasfilm. ©2009 Lucasfilm Ltd. & ™ All rights reserved.

This version contains seven maps (“Mos Eisly”, “Bespin”, “Bestine”, “Not A Cave”, “Jundland”, “Jundland Dusk” as well as the new “Anchorhead). There is also a new killstreak called “viper droid”. The Y-Wing and Tie-Bomber are now part of the killstreak “airstrike” (finally!). We have also fixed some bugs of course. With version 1.0 you will also get an installer which makes your life a bit easier (see the video tutorial below).

Thanks to all who supported us over the last years. We are still stunned by the enormous feedback we have received. Around 75,000 downloads and more than 900,000 visitors on our YouTube Channels were our motivation to go on with the mod for such a long time. A lot of your ideas and recommendations are integrated to this final release.

We also like to thank the worldwide CoD Modding Community. It’s so awesome that most of you old scruffy looking nerf herders have participated to this project. Awesome! The Force is strong with you! Hopefully you will enjoy our new version of SWM: Galactic Warfare for the time being.

You can also download the Mod (incl. Serverfiles) here:

We will upload the installer within today too!

If you like to learn more about us and the team of SWM, you are always welcome at blackMonkeys.de. Please don’t hesitate (either in English or German) to use our board if there are any questions or ideas concerning the mod: forum.blackmonkeys.de

May the Force be with you! Modders for Life!

Sincerely,
Your Blackmonkeys and friends!

Looks fantastic. ;D A few questions though (Feel free to answer if you want, or not):

Will you maps, on average, be larger than the default CoD4 maps? I always thought the CoD4 maps were a bit too small, especially for higher player counts (I always preferred matches with max 8 players). Why do I ask? That Tatooine map looks quite large and well, it'd nice if it really is, and that the other maps follow suit.

How many maps will be featured in the first release? And I think everyone wants to know this, will there be a Hoth map (In the first release, or further down the line)? From screens, I can guess that in addition to Tatooine, there'll be Cloud City and Endor.

And how many firearms (Blasters, if you prefer) do you have now (In numbers, no need to name each of them)?

Thanks mate, lets have a look on your questions:

Map sizes are quite mixed. Some will be larger and others will be like the default ones. With this Beta we will just release one Map. But others are already in the works.

Tatooine which is shown in the video is quite big. You are right ;)

It is a hell of Work to do all those pleayer and weapon models, animations, maps and stuff. We would need new models for Hoth. This will take some time. Other szenarios will come earlier (Cloud City and Endor)

There will be 4 Playerclasses for each side. Each one has its own Blaster. Others are in the works too.

Well.. I am sure that you will understand that we wont publish everything what we are going to integrate to the mod. We would like to keep some secrets until the beta release. Sorry mate.

No problem. ;D

I was kinda expecting that answer, given how many questions (And requests) I posted. Anyway, I trust you to deliver a great game. So yeah, I'll stop posting now, and wait for the beta.

Thanks for the answers. ;D

A few more questions though (And suggestions you probably don't need ;P ):

Will there be custom classes and perks (Original ones renamed at least. Except Martyrdom, of course, no one wants that ;P ) at all? I realize this would probably mean a lot more work, but given that it's such a huge part of the original game, I'd be sad if that aspect of the game is left out.

And then attachments, any plans for those? Like some optional scopes (For specific weapons, the more recognizable weapons would probably only look strange if altered)?

I'm not sure how difficult it'd be from a technical point of view, but making the Double Tap/Increased damage (Name escapes me. But yeah, it'd be neat to have increased damage at the cost of ammunition capacity) perk a mechanical (Attachement) component for certain weapons would be very cool and would make it more technically plausible (Then again, that never was Star Wars strength).

Will there be a Hardcore mode? In CoD4, I much prefer this to Standard, as I appreciate the lack of a HUD (More immersive that way, if not more realistic) and more deadly weaponry. Then again, for all I know, having essentially one-hit kill weapons might be awful in a Star Wars setting

"It is a hell of Work to do all those player and weapon models, animations, maps and stuff. We would need new models for Hoth."

I realize that. Upon further thinking, yeah, that'd require new player models as well (Rebels with snow gear and Snowtroopers) and a whole lot of environment models (At least if it's outside it'd need things like Turrets, AT-AT's, generators and so on). But yeah, all in your own time.

But I do agree that it's better to focus on more reasonable content first, like the other two maps currently in the works.

I just noticed the Scout trooper in the video, you are planning to implement their sidearm I hope (Perhaps as the rough equivalent of the M9)?

Starwars.wikia.com

And maybe this one (Perhaps as the rough equivalent of the USP)?

Starwars.wikia.com

Besides that though, there isn't much I'm missing. You already seem to have most of the Blasters I recognize from the movies (Including the awesome C96 Mauser inspired DL-44), so I'm sure I'll have a lot of fun with the mod. ;D

But yeah, awesome work so far, looking forward to the Beta.

I have to say i am pretty impressed by your mod guys, i am a sw fan since i can think and this mod deserves the 9/10 i gave it!

This is by far the only cod4 mod atm that worth it to play and it is alot of fun online, not to mention the quality of the maps is outstanding, like 1 to 1 replicas of the sw scenery!

Keep up the good work!

Serverfiles and more servers would be nice too :)
