Star Wars: Interregnum is an upcoming mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion that builds off of the highly successful Enhanced 4X Mod. Most famous for being the personal starship of the Bounty Hunter Boba Fett (and his father Jango), the Firespray class Patrol Craft was almost a failed design thanks to its most famous owner.
Produced by a subsidiary of Kuat Drive Yards (Kuat Systems Engineering), the Firespray was designed for law enforcement, and was being tested at the prison colony on Oovo IV. While collecting a bounty on the planet, Jango Fett found the hangar with all six prototypes, and promptly stole one and destroyed the rest to make his escape. Production plans were cancelled after this incident, and Jango's Slave I remained the only vessel of its type for over a decade.
As Jango's son Boba became a fearsome bounty hunter in his own right, Slave I also achieved a formidable reputation. This prompted Kuat Drive Yards to begin serious production of the Firespray before the Battle of Yavin, with marketing campaigns featuring Boba's success. This new run of the Firespray saw some success among private security companies, independent shipping business (such as the Azzameen family's Twin Suns Transport Services) and other Mandalorians, even though the ship lacked Slave I's many custom modifications.
With Boba Fett taking over as Mandalore, he allowed MandalMotors access to his personal starship, which was then used to produced their own version of the Firespray. The main difference with the Kuat Firespray is that the MandalMotors variant kept Slave I's Ion Cannons, though this was a fairly popular third part aftermarket as well.
As the smallest hyperdrive equipped warship widely used by the Mandalorians, the Firespray serves important roles in patrolling Mandalorian space and supplementing Starfighter attacks. It's heavy pair of repeating blaster cannons are powerful against starfighters, while missiles and ion cannons give it a bunch against larger ships.
