So star destroyers will be able to spawn landing craft?

They don't spawn the colony frigate unit, but rather they play different roles in certain Star Destroyer abilities. You'll several of them land on the planet when the Victory Star Destroyer colonizes a planet or lands troops for example, while the Imperial-II uses them to send stormtroopers to capture an enemy frigate. It's the same model but not the same unit in other words.

Description

The primary troop transport of the Galactic Empire, the Sentinel Landing Craft serves as a rather unique colony frigate in Interregnum. Rather than having one mid-sized ship send colonists down to the planet, the Sentinel simply lands itself directly onto the planet's surface, where her stormtroopers will begin to bring Imperial rule (and taxation) to any natives or arriving colonists.

In game terms, the Sentinel is a very cheap colony frigate that only uses 1 fleet supply, but is consumed on use. Empire players thus only need to build sentinels when a planet needs capturing, freeing up fleet supply other race's permanent colony frigates use up. Sentinels also do not need antimatter to colonize planets, allowing them to colonize distant plants more easily. However, Sentinels are extremely fragile and cannot capture structures like other colony frigates, and if you need to colonize more than 6 planets they are more expensive in the long run.

In addition, the Sentinels are used in the special abilities of several other Star Destroyers, including the Victory Star Destroyer's Colonize and Landing Force abilities and the Imperial-II Star Destroyer's Boarding Party.
