I can't be the only one who is pleased to see this ship make it's return. A pirate ship on EaW, and now a pirate ship in Interregnum. Very fitting.

Description

As the Mandalorians remilitarized themselves, it was quickly apparent that Mandalore's industrial capacity could not create new ships fast enough to make itself a threat before the war came to their world. In addition to refitting older warships like the Venator and Dreadnaught, the Mandalorians also began converting civilian ships into light pickets and support ships. One of the most popular ships was the so called "Interceptor IV Frigate", an armed upgrade of Corellian Engineering Corporation's highly successful Action VI class transport

Mandalorians had a preference for CEC's designs due to their superior reliability and tough manufacture. The Action VI was also widely available and easy to acquire, and in fact pirates and smugglers had been arming these ships for years.

Armed with four concussion missile launchers and three light turbolaser cannons, the Interceptor IV was designed to provide long range supplemental fire while dedicated warships absorbed enemy fire. It's cargo bays allowed it to carry an impressive load of warheads into a single battle. In this role they are quite effective, but as civilian ships they lack the armor and shields of more dedicated warships, and are a bit on the slow side. For their cheap cost however, it is hard to complain about these drawbacks.
