Mod of the Year Week: Day 4 image - Star Wars: Interregnum mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion
Star Wars: Interregnum is an upcoming mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion that builds off of the highly successful Enhanced 4X Mod. Fleeing the unknown terror that is chasing the Vasari, the factions of Sins of a Solar Empire stumble on a temporary wormhole that takes them to a galaxy far, far away. The sudden arrival of armadas with trillions of refugees and thousands of warships between the events of Episodes 5 & 6 forever alters the Star Wars universe and plunges the galaxy into an unprecedented period of chaos and violence. Begun, a new conflict has.
Ah its that time of year again. The weather is getting colder, there's an ambient background of festive music, and modders are more generous than ever. Think I'm talking about Christmas? The New Year? Hanukkah? Of course not! It's mod of the year time here on Moddb, and I'm here to try and bribe you for your vote like any good sleazy politician would. ;-)
So here's the deal. It has occurred to me I've not uploaded any screenshots of battles between the Rebels and the Empire. To rectify that situation, I'll be uploading a new screenshot every day for the remaining 7 days of the Mod of the Year nomination phase, as a sort of Advent Calender of "Pew Pew". Between them, those with sharp eyes will probably be able to figure out most of the Rebel fleet roster.
But it gets even better. To give you an incentive to support this mod beyond merely voting for it, I'll do the following depending on what place the mod gets in the final Mod of the Year rankings.
1. If Interregnum gets into the top 100, I will release a full faction report for the Rebel Alliance, including every unit they have and their most important unique traits.
2. If Interregnum reaches the top 5, I will add any Star Wars character the community desires (via nominations and a poll in the forums) into the mod as a bonus hero unit, provided the character is still alive after Episode VI and hasn't been killed off in Interregnum lore (I suspect Luke Skywalker or Admiral Dalaa will be among the most popular).
3. If Interregnum wins Mod of the Year, I will add the Super Star Destroyer Eclipse to the mod in the next update.
So if you like what you see or what I've promised, please vote for Interregnum for Mod of the Year! And maybe get your friends to as well. :p
I don't recognize the Mon-Calmari ship on the left or right. The ones next to the home one.
Do you really want me to say? A few people seem to like guessing them. :p That said, I do not believe the variant on the left has a canon designation, but if I remember correctly it appeared in X-wing Alliance. The one on the right is a fairly well known Expanded Universe ship.
Unfortunately I never played x-wing alliance. :(
It was a great game. They just rereleased TIE Fighter and X-wing, maybe they'll eventually make a digital release for Alliance. Which reminds me, I need to ask for a joystick for Christmas so I can play TIE Fighter again! :-D
