Star Wars: Interregnum is an upcoming mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion that builds off of the highly successful Enhanced 4X Mod. so heroes have to be researched and then built. is it instant or does it take time like other research?

Those icons aren't for heroes. ;-) The heroes are still in the Diplomacy/Allegiance tree as they are in the current alpha. This is for something different.

Considering the four icons all led an imperial faction at one point, I'm guessing that this is some kind of research to choose the leader of your imperial faction. (Warlords I'm guessing from the screenshots) Each leader comes with a different bonus, but you can only choose one. Am I close?
